Not worth the money.Mechanical and repetitive - looks good but that's about it

Great for targeting specific regions
I personally love this massager. I already have a high-end massage chair, a Theragun Pro, rollers, and other tools, but this fills a niche the other tools don’t serve as well. This device squeezes the back of my neck very well and hits the top of my trapezius somewhat well. It has paddles for the neck and little levers for the traps, so the function is different from the yoke-style shoulder massagers that use rotating balls to massage (the yoke massagers are pretty good, though). The heat function does get hot but there are 4 levels of heat, so you can turn it down or off. The motor is not as powerful as a plug-in tool but still squeezes hard enough to loosen tight muscles. I used the massager so long the first evening that I had mild friction burns on my neck, but that was my fault. The massager paddles do not seem to be adjustable so may not effectively target the lower neck and traps for slender people. It is heavy and clunky but not more than other shoulder massagers. It is small enough that I plan to have it in my carry-on on my next 12h flight. This device is somewhat expensive, compared to yoke massagers and low-end massage guns and is not versatile enough to be your only massaging tool. I have used it for about 2h and just had to recharge it for the first time, so I can’t predict its long term durability. I will revise my review if there is a change in my assessment over the coming months.Revision 2/18/23: the massager still works well but I have limited its use to instances where I can’t be tethered by a power cord. For daily use where I can sit near an electrical outlet or extension cord, the plug-in SpiriTouch Pro offers a stronger and superior neck and shoulder massage. It is much heavier and bulkier and has no heat, but it has a more powerful motor and covers a wider area of my traps (this is a yoke style model that has different massage nodes than the ususal rotating balls). Both massagers being me great relief.

This is the BEST weapon in my neck/shoulder pain aresenal…so why only 3 stars?
I have put off reviewing this massager for months because, while I like it a lot and use it almost daily (twice daily, actually), I still firmly believe it only deserves 3 stars, despite it being the best portable neck massager I’ve ever used. Here’s why:Cons:1) The perky yet shrill greeting (“Hi, SKG!”) and message when the cycle ends (“Massage complete! Enjoy your day!!). I’ve learned to turn the unit on well AWAY from my head, so it doesn’t yell the greeting right in my ears, but still can’t avoid the end message unless I prematurely turn off the unit, again, away from my head. It is really, really loud, shrill, jolting, and unrelaxing, to me, anyway. And there is NO option to turn it off. And the end message makes me roll my eyes whenever I use the unit right before bed, because, really? Enjoy your day? My day is over, SKG! 🙄2) Wasted modes: The product claims to have 4 distinct massage modes, but it doesn’t. And one mode is completely awful. A) Wake-up mode. The heads rotate counterclockwise, like 2 other modes. The heat is there, and you can adjust the intensity just like all the other modes. The problem with this mode: the heads abruptly stop rotating every 5 seconds……pause…..then restart. Every. Five. Seconds. I guess that might wake someone up? But you know what else would? An alarm clock, or a jackhammer. This mode is completely unrelaxing and not an effective massage. B) Standard Mode: the heads rotate counterclockwise, the heat and intensity levels are all there. No stopping and starting. Nice massage. C) Soothing Mode: the heads rotate counterclockwise, the heat and intensity levels are all there. No stopping and starting. I can detect zero difference from Standard Mode, so what’s the point of 2 different modes that do exactly the same thing? D) Stress Relief Mode: the heads rotate clockwise. Otherwise, this mode is identical (and really, indistinguishable) to Standard Mode and Stress Relief Mode. If you’re really into the massage, can you tell whuch way the heads are rotating? I can’t.3) The hands-free option: this was actually the feature that pushed me over the edge when deciding between this massager and other brands. Hiw great would it be to get massaged WHILE working at my desk? Well, it’d be real great, but don’t count on it from this massager. The hands-free option involves a complicated process of wrapping the straps around your chest and torso and shoulders, tightly, so that the unit’s heads will stay in constant contact with your neck/back - and trust me, they don’t want to, because of gravity. The weight of the unit wants to tumble backwards off your body if you are upright. But I did finally get all the straps tight enough and in the right locations to hold the unit at the base of my neck, and it was very…unrelaxing. Plus, I couldn’t do any work because my arms were harnessed to my sides. Took it off after a couple minutes, and never looked back, because of what this massager CAN do if you guide it with your hands. And then there’s this…if you DO use the unit hands-free, you get a massage on exactly one spot on your neck. Only. Seems like a very pricy purchase to just massage the base of your neck over and over and over.4) The straps could be vastly improved. When the straps are folded in half to use the unit hands-on, the open “handles” at the end of each folded strap are way too far away for my hands to reach. And my arms are NOT short - they are normal length arms for a 5’6” woman. I get that the unfolded straps have to be long so larger people can fully wrap them around themselves to achieve the hands-free mode, but here’s my problem: since I can’t reach the handles, I have to hold the straps closer to the unit, my hand wrapped around the wide-ish strap, and the fabric is slick. My hand slips constantly, and cramp from the tight grip. I’ve taken to prying open the super-strong velcro inside, and creating a space wide enough for my hand to slip in, at just the right (comfortable) distance from the unit. The prying-open of the velcro is a 2-hand job, and if I’m not extremely careful, the velcro at my just-created opening manages to re-attach to itself before I get the unit in position. The hook side if the velcro is also uncomfortable, so I’m planning to put some left-over fleece fabric from my sewing stash into my little inside-the-velcro handhold, for a permanent solution.Pros:1) If you use the hands-on mode instead of hands-free mode, you can move the unit up and down your entire neck. If you use the unit while bending forward at the waist (I rest my head on my desk) or while lying down, you can even the unit lower on your back - or someone can do it for you. I designate one hand as the “driving” hand, and the other hand as the “resistance” hand. My driving hand can guide the massager all the way out to my shoulder, massaging everything along the way, and can also guide it 90 degrees around the side of my neck - so my full upper trapezius muscles and my ouchy sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscles can get the treatment! My resistance hand applies the necessary pull on the unit to keep it from falling backwards and to help it get where I’m guiding it.2) As many others have said, the massage really feels very similar to an actual person kneading the sore muscles. It’s divine!TL/DR: This unit, used hands-on, provides a wonderful therapeutic massage. There is only ONE functional mode as far as I’m concerned (Standard, Soothing, and Stress-Relief are all identical). If SKG would let us disable the awful voice, create modes that actually differ from each other, and solve the strap/handle issues, I’d be first in line to buy THAT unit!

Big Neck People beware!
This is a awesome idea....at least for people with averege or small neck size. I have a 17inch neck and this thing didn't work well fitting on my massive neck. it did fit on my wife but she didn't like it cause it pinched and was to strong even on the light setting.

Insufficient Strength for Deep Tissue Massage
I really wanted to like this product. It has an attractive aesthetic, quality materials, and even heating in the neck pads. The voice notifications were a nice touch too. However, it falls short in terms of power. When I tried to get a deeper press by leaning my head back, the voice notification warned me after about 15 seconds that the unit was overheating and needed to shut down. Unfortunately, this limitation made it impractical for my needs, leading me to rate it 3 stars. If you're seeking a mild, heated neck massage, this might be ideal. But for those, like me, needing more intensity to truly find relief, it's not quite up to the task.
