great teaching tool for my 9 year old grandson

Our son loves this! He's building something new daily and has a go at programming different actions. What a great product! It was definitely great Christmas idea.

Great value for money. Lots of pieces, all compatible with the most expansive brand. In the box one printed building plan is included. The other building plans can be viewed via the app. The app works pretty well, I must say. For young kids I do recommend assistance form an adult that also has some experience in building. My boy (8) built the car almost completely by himself, and I enjoyed the quality time. After building we spent some time demonstrating the capabilities of the app to grandma. The capabilities within the app do exceed my sons abilities, but he enjoyed very much my magic tricks. (The batteries still hold) The cars can be controlled either with a simple remote controle function in the app or by running a self coded program. Since I’m a software developer myself, I had no trouble coding with it. And there are lots of options that we didn’t even try yet. It’s not the fastest RC car of course, but that’s ok. The back motor does most of the work. The left wheel and right wheel work independently. The little LEDs can be remote controled (and programmed) as well. A secondary motor adds a little extra movements, depending on the building plan. My kid learned a lot form it and is planning to build the dino as well. I can highly recommend this Robot X. We spent multiple hours on learning and enjoying the building process and demonstrating things to grandma. 👍

Der Roboter-Set hat meine Erwartungen nicht erfüllt; wir haben, da wir keine neuen Batterien zur Hand hatten, schon gebrauchte eingelegt und dann den Roboter aufgebaut! Der Zusammenbau ist mit Geduld, etwas Hausverstand auch für einen 8 jährigen möglich; allerdings nicht so ohne weiteres ohne Hilfe von einem Erwachsenen! Die Bedeutung der infrarot Sensoren und des Farbsensors hat sich uns nicht erschlossen!! Nach dem Aufbau wurde die Handy App mit der Fernsteuerung in Betrieb genommen! Diese ist aber irgendwie lustlos und frustrierend, sodass wir uns schon eine richtige Fernsteuerung gewünscht hätten... bei dem doch recht hohen Preis des Artikels hätte das schon inkludiert werden können! Nach einigen herumfahren wollten wir die schon schwächer werdenden Batterien gegen neue austauschen...zu unserem entsetzen stellte sich heraus, dass sich der Batteriedeckel nicht mehr öffnen ließ...man mußte massiv den Aufbau zerlegen um neue Batterien einzulegen...ein absolutes NoGo!!!! Um das ganze wieder zusammensetzen wäre es einfacher gewesen, alles wieder zu zerlegen und neu anzufangen! Mein Enkel hat dabei aber die Freude verloren, und so liegt das gaze Zeug jetzt halb zusammengebaut umher... Wenn ich das alles vorher gewusst hätte, dann hätte ich die Finger davon gelassen.

Good item for childs

We bought the robot. Instructions came for car only. App with other build instructions doesn’t work. Was not able to contact the company directly for resolution.
