Can this light a small office with no overhead lights

I don't know but I have it in a small bedroom and it is bright. It has three settings and bright is too bright for me. It is really a nice light and well made. Not cheap looking and has some weight to it and a nice glass shade. I am sure if it doesn't do the job for you that you can find a nice place for it. So worth the money. I am buying another for a low light for my living room for watching TV. Enjoy
