Interesting, insightful and intelligently written.
The strength of this book is in its comprehensiveness, covering individuals' stories of transformation, the science behind meditation, that feeling of guidance from the author himself, and exercises many of which are inspired by or similar to Kundalini yoga. The integration of research and practice, and of conventional medicine with a holistic approach, are appealing and well validated in this book. This book has impacted for the long-term the way I view breath, and I try at least a little each day to practice conscious breathing! This is a book I will return to in future, especially if I suffer from any physical or psychological 'ailments'. For a beginner, I would recommend using this book in conjunction with going to a kundalini yoga class or at least checking out some of the chanting via internet searches, because it is difficult to get a sense of the exercises and chanting from reading text alone and it's easy to be put off unnecessarily. I would love to see an updated version of this book, which was written over 10 years ago, as I'm sure the science (and his own practice) has further developed albeit in baby steps!

Absolutely fantastic book which I also have in paperback
Absolutely fantastic book which I also have in paperback. This is my go to book at all times of illness or stress- rely on the mantras daily especially the medical and lost hope ones. Always feel a sense of calm come over me once I chant these mantras and they never fail to help.Cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone even if you have never meditated before there is something in this book for everyone who, is willing to open themselves to the wisdom in these pages.I feel very passionately about this book as it has helped me on so many occasions - I brought the paperback over ten years ago and the kindle version recently. If you love books you will have a book that occasionally you stumble on and feel you need to pass on to others - this book is one of the few I have felt this way about.Sometimes books are like people in that they touch your life at a time when you most need them and you are never the same- always grateful for the gifts they have imparted upon. You feel blessed to have found them and want to share what you have gained with others - that is how I feel about this book.So if you are reading this review and buy this book I hope only that you find in some small part the grace this book has bestowed upon me.

I have just started to read this book. I find it's very interesting. I try to find any holistic remedies to help my nerve pain and I feel meditation could be one.

Excellent
I have nearly finished reading this book now and can see that I am going to be using the meditations regularly. I have been going to kundalini yoga classes for a year and a half now and so can totally relate to these meditations. I am sure there are many more that can be used for each ailment but assume the author tried to keep it simple and effective. Very good writing. I personally have great faith in these meditations and kundalini yoga in general.

Amazing, easy to read and quite basic, but very effective!
This the second book I have bought of the same, the first I gave to a friend. I have bought another few since to give to friends. I have been practicing meditation for years, however this book has helped me to focus on difficulties in my body, As a result of this book I have achieved many things that are too personal to put on this page. I just cannot thank the author enough for saving my life - basically, so that I can be a mother to my child.

Great topic, clear explanations and examples
I really love this book. I already practise Kundalini Yoga, this is a great complement to that practise, to the point that I am finally practising meditation on a daily basis. It is truly a gift.

I loved and still love this book
However you come by this book it is a gift, the meditations can heal you but you do have to put in some effort and have consistency.

Enlightening
Having just started mantra meditation a couple of months ago, I was interested in delving deeper into the power of meditation. This book is a great resource for anyone interested in meditation.
