This makes a quick swap of disk not so easy to do
I would have given this product a 5 star had it not been couple minor but fairly important design issues. First, you need a screw driver, which they do provide, to open the case. This makes a quick swap of disk not so easy to do. Sure, if you want to permanently mount a drive, this is fine but the purpose of having an external drive case is to switch drives. Second, it included a USB cable but not the eSATA cable even though the eSATA port is there. I bought it specifically for the eSATA port and in the pictures it sure looked like the eSATA cable is included. The product description does not have a packaging list so my assumption made me feel stupid. Now I have to spend 8 more dollars to get a cable plus the wait time.The enclosure does look pretty slick, with the blue LED lights in front and 2 very quiet fans. When I connected the USB cable to my Windows machine it comes up as a "Local Drive" instead of a removable drive. Therefore no "Eject" option when you right click on the drive. This makes me wonder if I unplug it will I risk losing data? Time will tell but I would prefer it being a removable drive since it *is* a removable drive.

Works and looks great, should probably have held off praise until its ran a few months but it should be fine as the hard drive is more likely to die first. Setup was easy and it worked out of the box, after setup of course.Wanna turn an old hard drive into something you'd be proud to set on your desk? This will do that.

Better than cheaper ones
Unique sstem for connecting the hard drive to the case. Others I have used were easily broken.

Quiet and effective
This was just what I needed. I like the fan in this unit. It is quiet and efficient. I use it for a DVR and this has been flawless. There is an annoying blue light though I am not going to knock down a star because of it has functioned well.
