Basic specification, easy to use
Lowry is not a name I’m familiar with, but I notice the brand offers a range of electrical products which include heaters, DVD players, speakers, dehumidifiers and more. This is a basic microwave, 17L capacity, with basic simple to use rotary controls for time and heat level. The timer is in minute graduations (up to maximum 30 minutes) and as such needs a little guesswork to set a cooking time anywhere between the whole minutes. There’s no digital display so there will be a little inaccuracy when it comes to timings. I don’t mind this, as most cooking will tolerate this slight over/under timing. It’s rated at 700W, so is at the lower end of the microwave power range, and the level is set by turning the dial through 5 power settings, from low through defrost, to high. The black model has a good quality finish to the casing, and the door mechanism is a simple mechanical push button to open. It’s simple and straight forward in design and specification, and offers a no frills budget microwave which is perfect for everyday use.

value for money
easy to use no complicated instructions just a simple oven that does what it is supposed to do would recommend easy to clean tooand fits a 28cm dinner plate, I also read a review stating that the door cant be shut quietly ...yes it can as long as you know how to do that...overall this is an excellent microwave.

Easy to use, budget microwave
Everything is relative, but I am surprised that this 17L, 700W Lowry is slightly larger in every dimension than my 18L, 8OOW Russell Hobbs. I'm nitpicking about the size, only because the marketing makes such a big deal of it. The 2 machines have similar cooking controls, but Lowry score higher for having more visible markings. One distinctive feature for a machine of this size is the door release button. It is much preferable to the door handles of the competition, which you need to yank open.Having top ventilation rather than side ventilation, should reduce condensation problems inside the oven.Manual vs Digital=============Setting a manual microwave is much easier. You are much less likely to make mistakes with cooking times. You cannot set a price number of seconds, but that is not a significant disadvantage as cooking times are always approximations. The alarm is quiter and does not last as long as a digital alarm.Overall this microwave is a strong contender. Easy to use. Looks good and is competitively price. No problems with operation.
