Excellent tool
I bought the 10 inch version. It's very strong, well designed and made. The pivoting plate on one jaw ensures good alignment. The rotating handle lets you tweak the opening width. The provided bolt is 2.5 inches long. It would be nice if they included other lengths, maybe a 1.5 and a 2 inch. I had some heavy gauge steel that needed expanding and this did the job without breaking a sweat.

This is a tool you rarely use, but is great when you need it.
When I need to pry something apart, out comes screw drivers, pipes, boards, ... Well, these pliers are so much better. Not perfect because it will not work in small gapes. They are very strong, and have separated everything I threw at it.

Locking spreader tool
Did you ever wish you had a pair of locking pliers that would push things apart, instead of squeeze them together? If so, these may be for you. It has two sets of adjustments, the standard bolt built into the locking pliers, and another adjustment that is a bolt on one of the jaws that you thread in or out to help set the distance between the 'jaws'. This bolt can be substituted with longer or shorter bolts from a hardware store if you want a larger range or adjustments. These are really good for positioning things, to hold something a certain height or distance for assembly or welding. Construction is pretty good, not as good as the old made in USA Vice-Grips, but as good as most imports are these days. Really handy if it is something you can use. Range of adjustment is really only limited by how long of bolts you wish to use (as it gets longer threaded rod is easier to work with), but realistically, you can only go so wide before the length of the bolt makes it start getting flimsy. Better to use a block or something in those instances. Works well, and the little crank on the bolt allows you to make adjustments without having to open and close the handles. A hole in the bolt allows you to use a screwdriver shank or similar for more leverage.

A great tool to have in the box!
Very handy! I use it quite often at work as a welder. Very well made, and surprisingly powerful. I have the bigger and the smaller versions. They’re great!

Sturdy and helpful spreader
If you need a spreader, I would recommend these. You never know what or when you'll need to use it but it's good to have in hand for when the time comes.

Very limited by the length of the adjuster
This is a great idea and works well within the small limits of adjustment. It would be easy to make multiple lengths of adjustment screws but the buyer should be furnished with them and not have to furnish their own.
