Amazing, really didn't expect much for the price but it's as good as my Rode one. Recommended.

I recently bought the Takstar SGC-600 for a trip to Africa to record interviews and ambient sound. Made of plastic the microphone is very light but feels well made. The TRS plug falls naturally to the mic socket on the left hand side of my EOS 90D. The best quality sound for a DSLR is recorded with the Takstar sensitivity set to 0dB and the camera audio recording set to Manual (as low as possible to show a reasonable pickup). I was able to record clear, low volume audio at several meters away (eg video of two ladies walking past chatting). From my window the mic also picked up the early morning birdsong and the buzz of crickets, as well as clear daytime birdsong during a walk later on (listen to the combined attached video). I also experimented using the mic as a ‘roving’ handheld mic, inserting its plug into the mic socket on one of my Synco G2 (A2) digital mics. A loud buzzing could be heard from some electrical interference which disappeared once I added an extension lead between the Takstar and the Synco mic unit. This extension lead was also useful to connect the Takstar directly to the camera when using it on a boom arm. Other impressive recordings were made connecting the Takstar via the headphone/mic C2-1 splitter cable directly to my iPad Air (Gen3) and MacBook Air (M1) running GarageBand. All in all I’m impressed with the performance of the Takstar SGC-600 for the price. The sound was very acceptable for my requirements. There’s always the opportunity to adjust the audio in post if necessary. I’m giving it 4 stars as it lacks a dead cat wind muff (which I’m finding very hard to source) and a carry pouch or hard shell which would protect it and the C2-1 splitter cable. I ended up slipping it into a sealable plastic bag to keep the African red dust away.

Had this load of junk come, and done over 4hrs of YouTube recordings only to find a horrible loud computerised humming noise in the background that wrecked my footage Admittedly I should have checked the sound quality first but you don't expect this kind of thing happening with something BRAND NEW !!!!! I checked and replaced the cables, and even changed 5 different cameras and then to 2 mobike phones to see if I could resolve the issue but to no difference. Takstar EU are terrible and very unhelpful, and did nothing to help only to say that they would pass the info onto their engineers??????? No offer for replacement no offer for refund,, only suggestion that they had was to return to Amazon ??? THIS ISNT EVEN AMAZONS FAULT OR PRODUCT ????. SO IF YOUR LOOKING FOR HELP OR RESOLVEMENT YOUR CLEAN OUT OF LUCK WITH TAKSTAR. I've never felt so disappointed and angry in my whole life with customer services like Takstar and as for their products my feeling are the same Forget buying this ... please

A good quality shotgun microphone with a variety of features and conveniently runs on a single AA battery.

Muy buen micrófono para ser de los económicos, altamente recomendado para amateurs. El producto llego retrasado pero solo por un día, lo cual no es muy agravioso. La caja original del micrófono presentó un ligero golpe en una de sus esquinas pero no afectó al producto. En resumen, buen producto, servicio de paquetería con pequeños detalles.

This mic is excellent quality. It is easy to use - can literally just get attached on the top of your camera and works with AA batteries. It does do some amount of background noise cancellation. And is slightly on the cheaper side as compared to some of its competitor products. Gives great quality sound.

Easy purchase to make. I was recommend this microphone after watching a few videos from Think Media. Its works, is extremley affordable, and instantly makes you look more professional. When I plug this in on the camera, it looks like I'm going to take a media interview. The real selling feature in the decibel manipulation on the mic itself; very helpful depending on the environment. It does requrie a battery, but that's a small price ot pay for this level of performance and portability.

Es el tercero que compro. Lo he comprado de nuevo para cambiarlo por el primero que compré hace 4 años, que se le ha pelado un poco el cable del sonido y, aunque todavía funciona... me da miedo quedarme sin sonido en medio de una grabación. El otro que compré hace 3 años está intacto y maravilloso (tengo dos cámaras). La calidad del sonido es muy buena, yo grabo obras de teatro en directo con ellos y estoy encantada. Pero si además sólo buscas recoger sonido de referencia, no te lo pienses más que no te hace falta ni Rode ni Roda. Y el precio es inmejorable.

Bin zwar kein Experte von Mikrofone aber mein DV Camcorder macht auf jedem fall deutlicher und lauterer Tonaufnahmen das man es auch wirklich verstehen kann, als das Mikrofon meines Gerätes was einbaut ist. Mit den neuen Mikrophon versteht man es klar und Deutlich. Erst hatte ich Zweifel ob es überhaut auf den DV Camcorder passt mit den Aufsatz und ob es wirklich einen besseren Ton Aufnahmen kann. Jetzt bin ich sehr zufrieden mit den Camcorder. Dank des neuen Mikrofones macht es mir jetzt mehr Spaß Hoppy Filme und Fotos zu machen. Kann diesen Artikel nur weiter Empfehlen und auch die Lieferung ging schnell wie Versprochen. Das Preisverhältnis für Knabe 40€ war es mir wert auszugeben.
