FRIO Extra Large Insulin Cooling Wallet - Keep Medication Cool for 45+ Hours Insulin Bag - Perfect for Travel and Everyday Use

I recently had two cross country trips where I needed to bring my migraine injectables that would not fit in to the various coolers made for insulin. I wasn't quite sure what I would do - other than try to get my meds locally - when I saw this item online. It looks a little hokey but works well. It took about 15 min of submerging in cool water to activate the crystals and cool the wallet. It easily fit three (capped) syringes. The kit comes with an inner envelope for your meds and an outer envelop as an extra wrapper. The outer wallet gets a little damp, but not enough to make things around it wet. I only needed the wallet to keep things cold for a few days, but it easily could have kept them cold for up to two weeks! Instructions say not to seal the cold pack in anything air tight (like a plastic bag), I don't know if this would include storing it in checked luggage (but who would leave their meds in checked luggage!?). I kept it in my carryon and TSA didn't flag it as suspicious (as they have for my mother's insulin cooler). The inner and outer envelops did take quite a while to completely dry out, but I didn't mind.

I travel frequently and need to take along meds that require refrigeration/cool environments. I am impressed with the FRIO bag system and have used a smaller version of this product for several months. My upcoming trip requires me to take along 5 injection pens, so this larger product version fit the bill. I chose the bright purple carrying bag to go over the black envelope with cooling crystals to make it easy to see in my carry on.

Frio is an excellent product. It is well made, and works well.

I am so disappointed with this item. Took 15 hr flight so pens were in there total of 30hrs and had them on plane with me. All looked good, easy directions but got to my destination and opened immediately. Covered in slime wet yuck.awful. not cold. I had it separated in own compartment in carry on and thank God because all wet. Had to usevmy products, safe anyways. I threw this out. Waste of money. Didn't investigate but thinking back probably a hole in it somewhere. Jellyfish stuff on it. Gross

I went on a trip for two weeks. I’d have to say I absolutely love the Frio. I kept my insulin at a perfect temperature, and all I had to do was re-soak the inside part every couple of days. Would highly recommend this.

When I travel I put the pens here to last my 24 HS fly. They get really cold and in good condition.

I was traveling out of the country for two weeks and needed to ensure my insulin could withstand about 24 hours of travel before I could return it to a fridge. About halfway through the travel day, I needed to pull out an insulin pen. The inside wasn't cold or cool, but it wasn't tepid either. It caused some anxiety, not knowing how it would last until I got to where I was going. It all worked out, thankfully. I will give it another try on a shorter travel day.
