PiscifunTorrent Baitcaster Fishing Reel, 18LB Carbon Fiber Drag Baitcasting Reel, Magnetic Braking System Casting Reel, Available in 7.1:1 and 5.3:1

I bought one of these Torrents 18 months ago on a trip to the States and I have been using it ever since. I use this for casting soft plastics and lures, usually 40g to 80g roughly speaking. I can honestly say, I can't find one bad thing to say about this reel !! Yes there is folk that will say 'it doesn't hold enough line' or 'it doesn't have many ball bearings' but in my opinion so what ? How much line do you actually need, I cant remember a single time a fish of any description took all my line off any spool, you get approx 120m of quality braid approx 0.30mm to 0.32mm, spoider wire or similar etc, that's plenty of line ! You have to remember this reel is less than £40 that's unbelievable. You've probably heard it all before but here goes anyway, I LIKE: compact, large crank size, 7.1:1 retrieve, smooth as silk, back-lash (Magnet) actually works and this real has plenty of drag adjustment ! I DON'T LIKE: nothing ! That I think, says it all.I have been so impressed with this reel over the last 18 months, I have just ordered 2 more to use on my pike rods (Agitator Baits) on my boat for bait casting and trolling. I hope this review has been useful to you. One thing I have to mention is, I have used this in both fresh and salt water and the real has taken a lot of dunking whilst out on my kayak and as long as you rinse it and oil her up, this real will continue to give you years of pleasure, without the burning a hole in your pocket LOL

Was sceptical at first but it proved to be a very good reel, simple to use and smooth. Easily handled this 5-6 LB pike, drag was easy to operate and it worked brilliantly.

A lovely reel. It is not for long distance casting that is for sure, but, if you are only casting 30m or so, it gets the thumbs up. I was using it with a nice 10 foot rod and just struggled to get any distance. It has 100m capacity but to get anywhere near that would be impossible. It is very small.But the action is smooth, the bail is nice and sturdy and the dials for adjusting drag etc are all good quality.It is almost silent when you cast too.I maybe need some practice with this.

Great reel for the price. My first baitcaster reel. After watching some YouTube videos on how to set up and use I was on the bank. Reel preformed great with 30lb braid. Feels sturdy and smooth. Would highly recommended for a first reel before splashing out on a more expensive one if you get on with baitcaster. Used 12 times no issues And a pike first time out. Drag smooth and great winding power. Is good for medium to distance with 24g plus lures as you need to get the spoil moving. If casting short distances or using on small rivers and streams I would use normal reel. Highly recommended.

This is my 2nd piscifun reel, couldn't be happier as these preform incredibly well for the money, if your new to baitcaster reels do your research before use and it will save you a whole lot of trouble.

i have to preface this review by saying that i'm a pretty lousy fisherman. I am, in fact, a beginner.This Piscifun baitcaster is .. okaish. It works.It's fairly easy to use and with 0.32mm line it's fairly easy to load and untangle when you get a birds nest .. which will happen.My problem is that i was barely able to cast 50g weights, due to the tension control knob being absolutely maxed out at this weight. Now, if you are buying a baitcaster .. to cast bait .. you will want more weight. If you are just using 20-40g lead and are happy with the normal reach of a normal collapisble rod, then save yourself the birds nests and buy a normal reel. If you are buying a baitcaster to GO FAR, then 50g will simply not be enough, regardless of how little wind you have.I would be happy with 70g lead, but 50g totally maxed is just not enough for a reel which is purpose-built for long, beach casting.Honestly, i would expect a baitcaster to handle four ounces, and this one doesn't.

So happy with this! Really light, balances well on rod, smooth rotor action and looks to quality. I bought the picifun flame spin reel too and that is of equal quality and design. Really impressed with Picifun, high end products at a more than reasonable price. Don’t second doubt purchasing this, I’m so glad I chose it over a shimano alternative that was quadruple the price.
