Absolutely beautiful sword
This is the second Tai Chi sword I’ve purchased and I love the fact that it’s lightweight. I practice Tai Chi sword seriously and wasn’t particularly interested in how it looked (it is beautiful) but in finding one that was easier for my arms and wrists. It moves faster because of its weight. The tassels are long and I may remove them… you won’t be disappointed in this sword wether it’s for show or for serious practice!

Excellent quality. It's beautiful. The rose wood is so nice. The blade is stunning.
The media could not be loaded. I love this sword. It is my first tai chi sword and I couldn't be more pleased with the beauty and quality of it. It has some weight to it, but it is still easy to maneuver. I start my training for the 32 tai chi sword tomorrow. Sorry for my video quality. Didn't really prepare, was just so excited about getting my new sword.

Great piece of equipment
I've used every model of Chinese straightsword over several decades and own dozens of different types. The price point has been pretty stable over the decades at around $100 for a decent-looking performance sword. I also wield 2lb and up, but I also always work with the light blades because in the Republican era light spring steel blades were favored. The quality on this model is superior for that price-point. Nice heavy handle. Balance is good, not too close to the guard so there's some feeling in the blade. Gives it a sweet action that makes it a pleasure to wield. I bought two!

Very beautiful craftsmanship
The quality and crafting was more than what I expected for the price. It came with a beautiful sword bag as well.

Not what I expected
To be honest I was looking for a Korean Geom but was unable to find one and settled on this instead as it appeared to be a very close approximation of a Geom. Once I unsheathed the sword it became very clear that this was a poor substitute as the blade is flimsy for lack of better words. Fact is, it has the same thickness as a piece of sheet metal. Granted it is stronger and I will be able to put a razor sharp edge and point on it though it will never be used in combat. I do however like my weapon’s to be combat capable, even if they are just replicas. This sword would not last 60 sec in combat unless you’re just fighting a watermelon. To the mothers out there, don’t worry, your kids will not be putting anybody’s eye out with this sword.

Good feel and quality, BUT Bagua symbol is incorrect.
Overall the sword is really nice quality straight out of the box and feels very nice in hand. BUT the symbol on the hilt is just wrong. I've put it out there to the broader community to see if this is somehow an arrangement of the BaGua that I wasn't aware of and no one could say this is intentional. So it would appear to be a mistake and in my opinion, a very big and embarrassing mistake by its makers. It would seem that most Westerners practicing these arts know these arts better than the Chinese who manufacture items such as this. If nothing else it's an interesting commentary of how China has lost its heritage and knowledge of one of its oldest and most important symbols. Just saying.

Pretty great!
I think any of the negative reviews don’t know what a Chinese straight sword is supposed to be like. I was a very devout Kung fu student for years, and years when I was younger, and this sword is pretty perfect. The flexible blade, and build are pretty spot on. I paid more for lesser quality when I was younger.I would recommend this for Kung fu practice, and display (especially for the price).
