Nice balance and feel
Balanced, light weight feel. Long handled so there is lots of drive power. Also have a rough face verison of this hammer but there are time when I don't want the face marks to show, so I brought the smooth face for those times. Only shortcoming I have found is you cannot pull on a nail sideway (carpenter's trick) because it will bend the handle. Excellent parallel strength but weak laterial strength. Great hammer just need to know this one limitation.

A work of Art and Functionality
I was skeptical when I bought the Dead On hammer. How can you improve a tool that's been around forever? Well Dead On has. It has a larger sweet spot and reduces fatigue with reduced vibration. I bought the hammer for my wife - she is a real cow girl - and we've been working on our fences. Well if you drive heavy staples and nails into fence posts for hour on end, you get tired. The Dead On hammer makes work easier. I want to buy one for myself now.

Nice but flawed
Loved the hammer, until the head snapped off 3 months after purchasing. Seems to be a design flaw that hasn’t been fixed as others had the same issue. Also, emailed dead on customer service about the warranty and they passed me on to Amazon. No reply from Amazon. So here goes the crap show of trying to get the replacement. We’ll see if they stand behind their product. EDIT Dead on ended up giving me a ONE TIME replacement. Had to go back and forth between Amazon and dead on but eventually got a replacement. Kind of crappy they say ONE TIME replacement.

The fitment of the handle overmould was pretty bad. Bulging out on one side
The fitment of the handle overmould was pretty bad. Bulging out on one side. I had to do some cutting on the plastic to get it to fit. The face of the hammer was finished well and it serves it's purpose. If you compare the price of this hammer to other skelotonized hammers you can see you get what you paid for. Not terrible but not great. It was worth the price.

This is one hard driving hammer!
Now THIS is a Hammer! I also have the Annihilator from Dead On so I know they make good tools. This one is a more traditional shaped hammer made of all steel. The grip is nonslip and absorbs some of the shock when hitting hard things. It drives a nail like nothing else and it is well balance. Only problem is the handle just below the head. It's a rather thin piece of steel that you could probably bend so it isn't something to put any pressure on sideways. Otherwise boy will it drive a nail!

nicest yet
This hammer is not only a great design but well balanced. I work concrete and this hammer is my best tool. Setting and stripping forms without fear of a splitting hammer. My hammers are overworked and frequent replacement is required. I believe this hammer purchase might be my last. Brute of a hammer. Cant wait to stress it and how it performs.

Dead On, sure, but face off too..
I already wrote a review for this hammer a couple years back but it isnt here anymore, somehow. I originally purchased this hammer back in 2013. My review explained how the face of the hammer broke off one day while sinking a 16P galvanized nail into some really tough PT rendering the hammer completely useless as a hammer. It was a rather dangerous situation because the face went flying on the back swing after being nearly ripped off on contact with the nail. I liked the hammer up to that point but the narrow area between the face and handle is a design flaw. I know I spoke to a customer service rep either here or by email because I remember quite well they didnt offer a replacement. I went back to using my old hammer and have been using it since. Today is the first time Ive ever shopped for a new one and its been about 4 years since the Dead On hammer broke. Not sure why my review isnt here even though the page shows my invoice from 2013. As surprising as the face cracking off.. the hammer is now twice the price! Crazy.. and.. Im not taking a chance on it.

Hammer looks the part but that is as far as it goes after the frist days use the rivet on the handle broke and the handle started slipping off. I had to put a nail in the rivet hole to prevent the handle slipping off. Then after 3 hrs on the second day the head of the hammer actually broke clean off .

If you really want to use this hammer you'd better weld in the spaces around the head as they appear to break off otherwise, see the other reviews. The handle is made of 2 pieces of rubber and does not fit well. I have put a rubber band around it to keep it together. This hammer is a gimmick and not a real hard use tool like a stanley hammer.

Surface grinding badly out of square on head. Nail hook is very blunt also having incomplete surface grinding. I don't mind the rough casting as it gives some character but functionality is first.
