no actual salad recipes though
I gave this 5 stars because the dressings are absolutely delicious and well worth buying the book, but I so very much wish she would have included ingredients for the actual salad pictured with the dressing recipe. The book is gorgeous, color pictures for every recipe, but no salad ingredients so I have to try and figure out from the picture and guess. Book would be 10 star with the salad recipes, but as it was only written for the dressings I can't fault the author and still love the book.

Aesthetically pleasing,several suggestions
I just received this book and can’t wait to start making the recipes, they all look terrific. . As an artist, I find this book to be quite nice—terrific photos, lots of them. I love the variations of the color of the pages, as well. Looks like an artist designed it. There are three things, though, that would make this book 5 stars for me. When it arrived, I went through and read every recipe and think about them. I decided to make the honey mustard first. I looked in the back index, no honey mustard. I had to go through the whole book again before I came to “Spicy Honey Mustard.” I had also decided to make the potato salad dressing. Same thing. I couldn’t find it in the index because it only listed as “Pesto Potato Salad dressing. I had to go through all of the pages (both of these recipes are page 200+) again. I’d forgotten the beginning adjective of the name of the recipe. Since, in both cases, there is only one honey mustard and one potato dressing, it seems to me that expanding the index to include the listing as just “honey mustard” or “potato salad” would be helpful and time saving—or expanding the table of contents. There are more examples, but these are the two I had to deal with, so far. My second comment has to do with the aesthetics versus the practicality. As I mentioned, I love the look of the book. I love the variations in the color of the pages. But, on some of the dark pages, the choice of color and typeset for the text is hard to read. More contrast would be appreciated, especially when trying to see the recipe in lower light situations. I also like to write notes on the pages of my cookbooks. The dark pages make it challenging. Finally, I would guess that your market for this book has a lot of vegan/vegetarian people. It would be helpful to mention plant-based substitutions for things like anchovies and anchovy paste. Some common substitutions (like bacon) are widely known by plant eaters, but not some of the more unusual, like anchovies. Just a thought. Anyway, I look forward to trying all of the recipes, very soon.

Great Recipes
Bought this as a gift and the recipes look delicious. I did read the reviews prior and it is hard to read some of the recipes due to the print being on a darker background page. They should really fix that with the next printing. Other than that, no other issues.

Order this - you won't be disappointed. I've made a bunch of the dressings and they are all delicious. I have 'finessed' some of them (I prefer a higher ratio of vinegar to oil) but the base recipe is ALWAYS good. You definitely can't go wrong with this book. Gives lots of ideas and combinations. I'm really glad to add it to my cookbook collection.

I love this book - there are so many interesting recipes to try that my salad is never boring. I have had it for a few weeks now and have tried several recipes with great success. Some dressings turn out so well you just want to eat them with the spoon. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to make their salads more interesting. The only criticism I have is that the book doesn't offer suggestions of what type of salad will go with which dressing.
