I really needed this. I have sciatica, and the cushion on my computer chair just wasn't doing the job. I needed extra padding for my long sessions at my computer. I also needed the padding to be firm, not too soft. Just got this yesterday, and already I can feel the difference. Just amazing and comfortable.

I got the larger version of the pillow. I first have to admit that the first evening I tried it, I used it backwards! The u shaped pillow is used with the legs of the “u” in the back. That way works better if you have tailbone pain because you sit on it and there’s an open space for your tailbone so that it doesn’t come into contact with anything. It makes sense when you think about it but I don’t always think at first. I felt I should admit to that because I suppose there could be others out there who might not be thinking about it when they first try the pillow out. It won’t work for tailbone pain if you sit on it the opposite way and could definitely aggravate it. But hopefully others are thinking more than I did when they first try this. So I normally sit on my recliner and since I’ve lost 120 pounds, I ended up with tailbone pain. I asked my doctor what kind of specialist would deal with this and she responded that she thought it was probably from loss of subcutaneous tissue and that she didn’t think a specialist would be necessary, that it should try a donut pillow. But Amazon has some things that pop up when you search for something that look even better and I chose this one for the description and the price. And the look that appeared to be more comfortable than a standard donut pillow. I’ve been using it for a couple of days now and I feel that it’s working for my tailbone pain because it prevents me tailbone from making contact with anything, which results in the pain I was having. It’s a hard pillow but I think it needs to be or it might not prevent me from sinking into it and my tailbone would make contact with the seat of whatever chair I’m sitting on. It’s comfortable when I consider the pain I would otherwise be having. I feel this is a good quality pillow and the price is right and I would recommend it to my best friend or anyone else who has tailbone pain.

Overall this is an ok cushion. However, it does go flat rather fast and while the cooling is nice the cooling doesn’t seem to last too long. Admittedly, I did not research much before ordering this item. I bruised my tailbone in a fall recently and after searching for the best method to decrease the pain, I decided to get this cushion. It does do a good job of keeping pressure off of your tailbone when sitting. The cover has a no slip texture on the bottom. I have a leather sofa. Not thinking, I used it the first afternoon with the no slip directly on the leather sofa only to end up with bumpy indentations on the sofa. It eventually disappeared, but now I put a light blanket underneath to protect the sofa. In my readings, I learned that it can take up to 3 months for tailbone pain to go away. I’m not certain this will last 3 months. But I will update if I have any issues in the future.

Great for long distance traveling. If you have a very bony behind then this is for you, cushion maintained shape and comfort throughout our 15 + hour trip
