Gam3Gear Surecom SR-328 Cross Band Duplex Repeater Controller with 2 x 46-K K Plug Radio Cable

The concept is great, but I'm struggling a bit with this unit to be honest. My transmit antenna is several metres from the receive antenna as per the instructions and I am seeing no interference on the receive radio from the transmit radio. The system works well up to about 200m, but over this I receive no audio, although I do receive a transmission (i.e. the receiver has received a signal and made the transmitter transmit, but there is no audio on the transmission just noise). This is at any setting of the receive radio volume and the Surecom's squelch set to its lowest. My transmissions quieten the receive radio up to about a mile, so having a repeater range of about 200m radius is pretty pointless! Interested if anyone else has seen this issue and know a workaround.
