Weather at a glance.
I love weather stations. Like to see what is happening in real time right outside my door instead of waiting for the TV weather report. This one is a big improvement over my others as it tells rain also and wind direction. Love the big readout. Mounted the outside unit high on a pole behind my house.

not what I expected
does not preform as described. Not satisfied. The temperature is 85° outside right now and the wind is 10 mph out of the West. and it refuses to hook up to the world clock

Setup
Fairly easy setup. Trying to change the time is a nightmare.

Data-Lover Special
As a scientist, one is usually a 'nut' for data, data is our currency for all intents and purposes.I live in the high desert mountains where we have highly variable weather condition zones, each zone is its own microclimate. There are 3 (public, media) weather stations that I know of in our area; 1 up in the ski valley, 1 at the airport, and 1 at the radio station, and the mean averages of all three is our local, collective average. The issue is that where I am it is always different enough from those 3 stations and the average, that it is at best a generalized estimate. For the sake of being better able to monitor my conditions (mainly for the sake of gardening) and have proper information, I've been wanting to get my own weather station. The other use for one I have in mind is also having a weather station set-up on my travel trailer/dig-site lab/office - once it is finally finished and ready to see its service. As a rule, weather data isn't of much use or relevance for archeology overall, but for us "data junkies" we like to annotate anything and everything that we can find to include. The weather data may be more of use if/when the conditions are "less than optimum" for dig site activity, artifacts can potentially be subject to such conditions, so that's one application, another is simply keeping tabs on and track of the weather as it is certainly relevant to the wellbeing and comfort of the crew - especially when working in the desert.

Problem mounting to pole
The parts for mounting to a pole are plastic. They are provided with four nuts and bolts to clamp to a pole but the holes in the two plastic parts do not line up.

Works great providing needed weather info- from far out in the garden.
The instructions are simple and easy to follow with all parts fitting perfectly and the unit was easy to mount on top of a 4x4 post- 8 ft. above the ground- out in my garden. I like it that the backlighting stays on when the big receiver screen is plugged in, and the readings are easy to see from across the room. Yes, it is all made of plastic- but it seems durable, and the atomic clock receives a signal from time to time from Colorado- and is always accurate showing the exact time, date, etc. My outdoor unit is 150 ft. from the receiver and easily linked and stays linked for the readings from my garden. At present I am waiting for the next storm to get the rain and high wind readings- and will help to know when freezing temps get close. Excellent weather reading unit that works great with a lot of info provided- from a good distance away outdoors. Great find!

Reliable and accurate!
Although you can get most of your weather information on your phone , it's nice to have your own weather station at home - it lets you track your own weather in real-time. Assembly is not too hard and quick. The instructions are detailed and help you figure it out. Just remember that you will need four AA batteries in total, and they are not included. When you first set it up, make sure the station and monitor are close to each other to ensure a good connection. After that, you can place them wherever you like. I put them about 60' apart, and the information it are pretty accurate. The information updates about every 30 seconds.

Disappointed
Our old weather station died after several good years of faithful service so we replaced it with the same one but the replacement was defective.
