I've been playing the "regualar" RC cars for all my life, and I finally wanted to step "Up" and tried something different. And for this price, is a great gateway to the other side of "real" 4x4 RC car.First what's the difference, why the price difference, this one is slightly higher than your typical toy. However, you are getting much more. You have proprotional steering control, what does that mean? A toy RC car, when you turn the steering, the wheel would turn to the max direction, you don't have any control, if you just want to make a minor correction. This is especailly important, when you want to go off roading.With this RC car you can travel to surface you can only dream of in the past. Like thick grass, most toy RC car would stuck, this will keep on going and going.The 4x4 system actually works in many surface. Rocks boulders (to the scale of the truck) You can finally experiencing 4x4 off roading without worry of damaging your actual 4x4 real truck!This RC also has proprotional accleratation control, so you can go as fast or as slow, this give you much better control with your off roading. And as soon as you let go of the "trigger", the truck stops. there is a physical link between the drivig motor to the driving wheels. So you get permenent 4 wheel lock, this make off roading easy because if you want to stop, you just let go of the trigger (gas)Again, this is not a toy for little kids, it's more gear toward the grown up, who like to step "up" in the world of RC, and tried something different. For the price, it's really worth the experience this can provide.

It is a very nice beginner truck. The battery life seems to be pretty good in the build quality while not the best is still pretty good. Tons of fun driving it around. I'd raised it decent value for the money.

I bought these as Christmas gifts for my 10 and 16year olds. They have thoroughly enjoyed them and they have surprisingly held up really well. They aren't fast, but they're crawlers. The steering is responsive, the size is typical of a 1/16 scale and the price is hard to beat. Upgrading them can be difficult, but there are some parts out there.

Awesome little scale Toyota crawler. Come with everything you need to get started. This is a good intro Crawler for those who are interested but do not want to spend a lot of money. Looks awesome on a shelf too.

Lowest price I could find on this website. The package arrived three days before expected. Amazon must have known I was very eager to recieve this purchase. So on to the review. The turning radius of the steering is too wide causing extreme oversteer. It might be possible to modify or upgrade the hardware to remedy this issue. I had planned to upgrade the parts eventually so hopefully there's room for improvement with the steering. The only real issue that I have is with the quality of the decals for the taillights and the fender side marker lights. The decals are very fragile and tear easily which makes precise application quite difficult. I managed to get one on without tearing but the taillights just don't look right with the stickers applied so I just painted over the lens. It's also disappointing to find the manufacturer didn't use LED lights for the taillights, this would have been a good feature of the design. The plastic fender side marker lights are also too thick. They protrude from the sides too much and don't look normal. The battery cable is also too short making it a hassle to connect the battery. Overall the build quality is acceptable for the price. It has enough torque to climb some obstacles so I am satisfied. It's a good entry point for the rc crawler hobby.

This has been so much fun to drive. It's not meant to be super fast, and I would be happy with a little more steering angle, but crawling over things is so satisfying. The range is excellent, better than I was hoping for, and the batteries last surprisingly long. I wish it came with more, but they are cheap to order. Even without the plastic accessories, it looks so good, especially with the headlights. It can get through tall grass and beebop over all sorts of roots and sticks. The variable speed and steering is a huuuge step up to regular R/C cars.

This is a cool looking truck. Build quality is perhaps a bit less than you would expect for the price. It is by no means a bad product, but if you want it to be actually good it will cost you a bunch of upgrades. If you want a project this may be perfect for you.
