Great product for the price
The media could not be loaded. This hoist is overpowered for my project but it was the only one with Just the remote control and at the time it was on sale. I needed something to hoist my 80 inch TV out of the way when I'm not using it. I mounted the hoist up in the loft/Attic on a piece of uni-strut... By the way I believe that is what the manufacturers have designed these hoists to Mount to. I have purchased a separate momentary limit switch which will mount the below the ceiling to cut the motor off before the hoist pulls my TV through the ceiling. Extra momentary limit switches can be wired into the control box which basically contains two contactors and a large capacitor. One contactor for Ford and one contactor for reverse.I plan to purchase another and mounted it in the garage once again on uni- strut but this time I'll purchase the rollers so the lift can move all around the garage it's a great product with plenty of add-ons and options,...you can make it work for anything you like.

Works well, exactly what I wanted
Super easy install because I chose not to do a trolly and to make a stationary setup but still have the ability to take it down if needed, works flawlessly for everything I wanted it for, the only bad thing I can say is that the red light flashes non stop while the hoist is plugged in

Slipshod Final Assembly
I bought one of these winches a few years ago. Works well so far, I use it to store my 5th wheel hitch up in the overhead of my shop. It only gets used when removing or reinstalling my 5th wheel. It is a little noisy but that is to be expected on a winch in this price range. So I bought a second winch to put on a rail in my shop. Surprisingly enough it is somewhat quieter than the first one and seems to function OK for what little I have used it. My problem is with the poor final assembly of the winch.Photo 1 - One of the welded on nuts used to install the hanger brackets on the winch was welded in at an angle.Photo 2 - The spring, washers and safety stop disc (Red Arrows) were assembled on the wrong side of the swedge. In this configuration the traveling block cannot be used. I removed the swedge, positioned the parts on the cable where they should have been and place a clamp where the swedge was and put on the traveling block.Photo 3 - The washer was the wrong size to keep it from being dragged into the traveling block. Fortunately I noticed the problem before it was under load or it would have damaged the spring and other parts. (Red Arrows)Photo 4 - I cut the end off the cable, removed the lower washer and replaced it with a fender washer (3/16" X 1 1/4") so the hoist stop would not bind with the traveling block and allow it to operate as intended. Then I put 1/8" cable clamps were the swedges had been.Evidently they don't do much for final inspection on these winches before shipping them. These were problems that should not have happened and if they did, they should have caught them prior to shipment. If I had used it like it was delivered the safety stop would not have worked as intended and likely damaged the winch or winch parts.

More than just a hoist.
Basically I've used this for other than intended. Basically in combination with a wheel chair ramp.In order to safely move a person in a wheelchair up and down a 10 foot ramp at a slightly steeper that intended angle I ground mounted this to a porch surface. Allowing the slow and steady movement of the chair up or down the ramp with ease.More than just a hoist.
