Best Interview Prep Book Ever!
A couple of months ago my position was eliminated after 35 years in one company. It was a job I loved, and since I still need to work, I began my pursuit of a similar role in another company. Everyone does all the "right" things, researching the companies you apply to, preparing a great resume, creating a LinkedIn profile and practicing behavior-based interview questions. Several years ago my former company offered an interviewing course taught by Matt Marvin and my supervisor sent me. At the time I wasn't thinking to switch roles, but still I learned so many valuable lessons in Matt's course. I quickly bought the book for my college daughter and watched it work for her as she landed her dream job before even graduating. Now it was my turn...I bought the Kindle version and studied it from start to finish, a couple of times. It worked equally as well for me, honestly pretty amazingly well! I applied to 10 positions, was selected to interview by 4 companies. In the end, I declined one company after the first interview (not the right role for me), and after 3-4 levels of interviews at the others, I received three incredible offers! I have no doubt that the keys Matt teaches in this book are what set me apart from the many other interviewees that were up for these roles. I Framed It, I Gave (not Get), and I definitely used the key question with each hiring Manager. In a couple of weeks I'll start my own dream job again, making 40% more than I was before....who knew losing your job can end up being the best thing that ever happened! I definitely Nailed It!

Highly practical and helpful
In preparation for two job interviews this week, I set time aside to read this book. I am so glad I did! Now I have a game plan for going into these interviews with greater confidence. I not only know what to say and how to say it - I also know what not to say or do so I stand out from the field of candidates. This information is very helpful because it has been over 10 years since my last job interview. I know it will eventually help me land the job I want.

Worthy of 10 stars!!
Five stars not enough!!!Do not pass up this book if: you have an upcoming job interview; a friend/child is interviewing for a scholarship or internship; if you are up for a promotion; you want to learn a powerful process for future reference.I have used the principles in this book to land a job...TWICE! When asking those who hired me why they decided on me their response was directly related to how I answered their questions based on the guidance provided in this book. I have since purchased four additional copies and handed them out to friends in need.Do not underestimate to science behind the interviewing process. What Matthew Marvin lays out in this book is based on brain and human behavior science. I used to underestimate the interviewing process and I’ve worked in the HR field for 20 years. Matt’s book has helped me redesign our internal interviewing processes where I work and the results have been extremely positive!

Very good points
The writing style is very repetitive and this could be netted into a nice manual. I would recommend for people looking that needed advantage

I found this book to be fantastic. As a 20+ year HR Leader
I found this book to be fantastic. As a 20+ year HR Leader, I have interviewed well over a thousand candidates. Surely, what can this book teach me? I’m not proud of that sentiment, but it’s how I honestly approached the book. I was wrong and learned a lot. Matt lays out practical and powerful advice to the candidate at any level. I found myself looking back at my past interviews and seeing key missed opportunities to better showcase my skills. I thought my resume was pretty good, but again, reading this book highlighted some missed opportunities.HR professionals often help schools teach “interviewing techniques” and I would highly recommend this book as part of that curriculum.
