CLASP BROKE resulting in injury !!!
DO NOT BUY !! 2 belt clasps failed !!This belt should be removed from Amazon. Taken off the market !!I saw another review with the same problem.I bought 3 of these belts because the price was right. My daughter has epilepsy resulting in falls if she has a seizure. She always needs assistance when walking in case of a seizure. She leaned forward, clasp released, hit the floor face first. Resulting in a broken , bloody nose. I got one of the other belts thinking maybe that one was defective. A month later that one released too. Luckily no injuries. The belt itself is made well. The clasp is the problem. These belts should be recalled.

Like that there are multiple handles and that it is durable material. Dislike that if you barely bump the area where the two ends snap, it will come out and detach. The patient can fall. This happened last week while getting my dad out of the car at the doctor's office. I used my knee for him to sit on. Thankfully, he wasn't hurt. Please be careful to not place the connecting part in an area that you might accidentally bump.

But this one is great with the handles
This is our first gait belt for my daughter who has Cerebral palsy. I was hesitant to buy a gait belt because I had only see the plane belt type ones. But this one is great with the handles. It makes transfers so much easier. My only negative is the material is scratchy and does have some sharp points where fabric is folded over and sewn. When she has clothes on it is fine but we were hoping to use this to transfer in and out of the tub and bed(during times she is naked). And with the sharp spots we have to wrap a towel around her first so it doesn't contact her skin directly. Not a deal breaker for sure but something to be aware of.

The handles are both pros & cons
My mom suffered a severe stroke and cannot get to her feet without maximal assist. We had a standard gait belt, but it was hard to get a grasp on, and the belt would sometimes get loose as we lifted. This belt clasps and doesn't get bigger while in use and there are multiple handles to grab on to. The down side is if we leave the belt on while taking her from point A to point B in her wheelchair, the loops on the belt are uncomfortable on her back, so we have to remove it each time, whereas a regular gait belt can be loosened for comfort, but left in place. Great idea though!

The clasp broke resulting in a fall-UPDATED
It worked brilliantly, until it BROKE!, causing my 125 lb client to fall to floor! UNACCEPTABLE! I am an RN and have never had a gait belt fail this way in >25 years practice.UPDATE: I've heard nothing from company on the above. The family apparently bought one of these as well and the other side of clasp broke on that one!!!

Better control, snap buckle on back and has handles along the front to guide the wearer safely
OUTSTANDING.If the person who needs assistance has sugery on the abdomen, then the standard Gate-Belt does not work well, but this goes under the arms and has handles to assist the care giver with control. Plastic clip on the back reduces the need to feed a long Gate-belt through the buckle in order to tighten the belt, this on can be set and will stay where you set it

Terrific Purchase!
Extremely well made, sturdy with plenty of handles. Very helpful in lifting and stabilizing someone while waking, and there is room for 3 people to all have a grip on the belt at the same time. An essential aid in helping someone keeping their balance while walking or standing. So MUCH better than trying to hang on to their arms or back. You'll wish you had bought one sooner. Do NOT get the one simply listed as gait belt, the one without handles, they are fairly useless.

The best gait belt
We have several regular gait belts from our different surgeries. This belt is MUCH better than the other ones. I feel more confident having loops to hang onto. If my husband starts to lean to one side, I am able to stabilize him more easily. It seems to be more ergonomic. The way it snaps closed is so much easier than using a metal loop. I never hesitate to buy medical items that I think will make us safer, and this is one purchase that I’m definitely glad I made!
