Good game - must plan ahead!
Bought this for my partner but I think I like it as much as him. Lots of ways to strategise - wouldn’t say I’ve cracked it it but enjoy playing. With 2 people it’s taking us about 2 hours a game.

Tzolk'in
We really enjoy this game, and have spent quite a few hours on it already. Tzolk'in is a worker placement game, with a really interesting mechanic that has moving gears representing days passing in the year. The quality of everything in the box is great. You might want to assemble the board before your first game; this is nothing major though, just a few clicks and some stickers, and it's a one time only thing. It reminds me a little of Monopoly in that each player is desperately trying to acquire more resources than everyone else, but where that game is painfully boring, this one is quite exciting and there are many different strategies to try. Another interesting aspect to this game is that there is hardly any luck involved, which means you win or lose based on your own merits! Heartily recommended.

Superb game!
It's a very unique worker placement game where time is the resource. Various ways to victory give this game high replayabilty. I would like the theme to be different, but I guess you can't have everything. Anyway it's one of the best board games with very interesting mechanics and decisions to make. It's one of the best board games I have ever played and I played about 300 different ones. This one is and definitely will stay for long in my top 10.

Unique, well priced and worth playing
Pretty good game, but it makes your head explode. I'm also not quite sure about the balance of strategies, and there are some buildings which are really not worth building. Player interaction, although fairly minimal in a sense, is often of the intensely annoying kind. Sometimes you just come out the worst off for several rounds in a row or have to scrap your entire game strategy because of the awkward placement of the other pieces - and through no deliberate moves by the other players I might add. Also, small mistakes of calculation can be very costly. Of course the gears are a gimmick, but a very cool one, and they are great for pimping with a bit of model paint! It's a unique game, that's what I like about it.P.S. 'Normal' buyers beware - this is not monopoly. This is a complex game designed to be played by geeky adults. I don't think it is at all simple enough for children.

Tzolk'in
I purchased Tzolk'in The Mayan Calendar and the expansion Tribes and Prophecies together. It was my first worker placement board game. I have been regularly playing it with my two boys (8 & 13) - we had the rules sorted out after a couple of games. The board is beautiful and the gears add a dimension to the game that is great fun. It has been interesting to see my children pick up the game and formulate strategies to win intutively (I have not come across a couple on the forums)This is an impressive game and kudos to the developers. I'd highly recommend Tzolk'in and the expansion

Great game
This is a mid-weight Euro game, not quite as harsh as games like Agricola but with a lot of depth. You place workers on the wheels, paying extra corn the more workers you place and the further round the wheels that you place them. If you don't place workers you can instead take off workers, doing the actions they are currently at on the wheels. The wheels connect together with a central cog, and after every turn you rotate it one tick, advancing all workers one space around the gears.I highly recommend it, and if you like painting things then the gears are pretty nice once painted

Three Stars
The product arrived in goodcondition but it was the German edition instead of the English one (as advertised)

Brilliant game
Tzolk'in is one of the best worker placement games. This is complemented by the brilliantly designed system of five differently sized gear wheels which has been incorporated into the vibrant, self-explanatory game board. Turn the main gear in the centre and the four others turn as well. An absolute must-have!
