These are fantastic, feature rich GMRS radios
I have several different GMRS radios and the Tidradio H8 Is pretty fantastic. It has a lot of customizable features including custom programming and is CHIRP compatible. The Tidradio software isn't bad to work with fairly user friendly, If that's the way you want to go to program. This is bluetooth compatible so you can program it from your phone (there is an app) And this has come in handy in the field as I have had to change the ctcss tones. If you want to use the radio for more than GMRS you can it's easy to find those videos on YT in order to unlock the radio. If you are using these for GMRS only these are pretty fantastic radios. They feel well built and not cheap. The battery life is very good at lasts around 24 hours on standby almost 16 hours with moderate use. Range on this radio seems about the same with all of my other GMRS radios with no detectable difference. The only con that I would put on this radio is the fact that it is not waterproof or even necessarily water resistant. There is no IP rating so use with caution. But it is fine for use for Fair weather outdoor use, base and vehicle use.

I really like these radios for GMRS use
I had to return the first set of TD-H8 GMRS radios because the external speaker/mic jack didn't work on one radio and one radio was missing the belt clip screws. However, the replacement set of radios work great. I do like the Odmaster programming software that TIDRadio offers for bluetooth or using a programming cable. The radios feel very sturdy compared to some others that I have used and the sound is quite good. The color screen is quite good and easy to read, even in sun. The 2500maH battery holds a charge for a long time for our use. The dual band feature is nice so that you can achieve some privacy by having the two radios set to the same two channels but swap the active transmit channel on the two radios so that anyone listening only hears one side of the conversation. Haven't fully tested the range yet, but we are getting a couple of miles with the upgraded 771 antennas in the hills around out house. Haven't been able to test comms through a repeater yet since we are not in range of any at the house. Overall, happy with the radios.

Fantastic handheld GMRS radio and quality product support!
Overall, the TIDRadio H8 hits all the high notes for me. It's powerful, easy to unlock for broader use, easy to program, and user-friendly. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or just starting out with GMRS communication, this radio is a great choice. Highly recommend it!Initially, I had a minor issue with my H8, where the flashlight wasn't functioning as expecte. TIDRadio support is extremely responsive with troubleshooting assistance. When we were able to resolve the flashlight issue, they quickly shipped a fully functional replacement.

Complete GMRS setups
Total products with all the attachments needed for set up and used except for the computer programming cable. It uses a standard Baofeng cable it is inexpensive. There are rx and tx for all GMRS frequencies and rx only above channel 54 for the rest of the available channels. The radios are very good units and working well. The charging cables and power cubes are included. Under the white box parts are two 771 antennas cut for GMRS frequencies. Great package for starting HTs and well worth the reasonable price. Highly recommend this package. Good buy and great quality.

My first GMRS radios
I did a fair amount of research, looking for my very first set of handheld GMRS radios, and came to the conclusion that these would fit the bill. I have found them to be very forgiving in mistakes when programming them and I have progressed in my ability to navigate through the menu either on the radio or through the Bluetooth function on your phone. I highly recommend these for your first set.On a sidenote, though, the Odmaster app that you use on your phone does not give you any repeaters that are GMRS in your area. I tried changing settings to get to that and the best I can get is only ham radio. I found it easier to just, enter my repeaters that I will be using into chirp and then rewriting the channel selection via a cable for downloading to the radio

Very Low Volume on One Unit (Customer service solved the issue)
Let me start my saying that the one that works as intended, is great, love the radio, but the other one in the pack has an issue. With both radios turned all the way up to max volume one is significantly quieter than the other, in fact I can only make out whats being said when its turned up all the way.Due to this I contacted Tidradio and am currently working with their customer service which sadly isn't going very well. They are not very responsive and after the first two emails seem to take about a day to respond. And though I've explained the situation with the unit I received in detail, are giving me instructions like "Can you please try adjusting the rotary button of the switch to see if it improves."So far, I've received a bad unit, but more importantly, the customer service is not great, I will adjust my review accordingly if they chose to step up their game, but as of now I'm giving a day or two before just returning these radios.Update: Tidradio did indeed step up their game and offered to replace.

Conflicted !!
The quality, programming, use, design is all great but I am having issues with programming. GMRS repeater freqs all correct and both H8’s absolutely will not talk to the repeater. Simplex (radio to radio) is fine but not tones to trigger repeater. VHF Ham, all work great, GMRS not so good !! Trying to get tidradio to help me. Nobody in the radio world can figure this out.

TIDRadio is a great radio to start with
Have a few of the UV-5R's that i have been playing with for a bit but wanted to upgrade a bit. Wish i would have had this radio to start out with 3 years ago. For the price point, cant go wrong. The app makes things really easy but its not hard to program from the radio either. I'll get 2 more of these for the rest of my family.
