Very sharp tungsten tips
The handles are OK for use, but it's worth buying these just for the tips, excellent scoring capabilities. Yes, they are brittle, hard tungsten does break if hit or dropped, they all do.

Very hard and sharp point.
Did exactly what I wanted it to do. Used to scribe a line on formica sheet and then gently press down and it breaks perfectly. Did a lot of cuts using only one of the tips. Brilliant.

Nice addition to the workshop
Purchased for scribing into hard surfaces like metal. They're very sharp and clearly mark your piece but they do shatter very easily if dropped. This is to be expected as they are made of carbide. They even have a magnetic end to stick to metal cabinets

Works well, but the point falls out.
I don't know who had the bright idea to add a magnet to the other end of this, but now mine is full of iron fillings. I can work with a big blob of black metal stuck to the end I'm not using, I guess, but that is not why I took off a star. I took the star because even tightened as much as possible the point falls out. I'm glad I have 12 of them, they are small and when they drop out randomly they can be hard to find. Works well when the point is in the scribe though.
