Third feature-length spin-off of the Japanese anime series. Naruto, Sakura and Kakashi team up with Rock Lee to protect Prince Michiru and his spoiled son Hikaru on their return journey to the Crescent Moon Kingdom. Prince Michiru insists on indulging his son to the point of buying him an entire circus along the way. Naruto is having difficulty enough putting up with both the spoiled Hikaru and a sabre-toothed tiger, but the real adventure begins when they reach the Land of the Moon and find themselves facing a villainous uprising led by three mysterious ninja. Does Naruto have what it takes to save an entire kingdom?

fabulous of course!
I was a little worried about buying this Naruto at first as so many of the reviews aren't good, but I was pleasantly surprised! This movie was ,in my opinion, very good and a great buy. The way everyone becomes friends after the storm is touching. I think this movie is quite up to the standard of the first Naruto movie, which I am a big fan of. Though I should think every Naruto deserves five stars:-)

Third time lucky
Considering the quality of the previous two Naruto movies, I wasn't expecting much from `Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom' but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The film sees Naruto, Kakashi, Sakura and Rock Lee sent on a mission to protect the prince of the Crescent Moon Kingdom and his spoiled son. When they get to the princes home however they find that the King has been overthrown leaving Naruto and his friend to restore the rightful rulers. While this movie does have a tendency to be moralistic and overly sentimental it is still relatively entertaining and is a lot better than most of the main series god-awful filler episodes. The animation is good (the petrifaction in particular being very well done), with some nice fights, and the English dub is on a par with that of the series and while the plot does have some pacing issues it is still interesting. The film isn't without its problems though as alongside the pacing issues I have already mentioned I didn't like the somewhat unnecessary opening monologue and I felt that some characters feel underused (especially Rock Lee). As well as this, while the plot is interesting, it does seem a bit light and struggles to stretch across the entire runtime of the film.`Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom' is definitely the best of the three Naruto movies and I feel that any fan of Naruto should enjoy this film despite its faults.

Not Subtitles but Dubtitles.
I have seen this before a while back but I only just received this dvd and I'm not going to go in to on how the movie is as I enjoyed of what I can remember when I saw it last. I just discovered when I was just checking the disc on quickly going through the context that the subtitles on this are not subtitles but dubtitles. So if you want a true translation from the japanese film, do not pick this dvd up. If you will be watching it in English, well there is no problem with it and for the price it's a steal. But for all of you like me who would watch this in japanese with subs well there isn't much point as the subs say exactly what the english dub are saying. That is why I gave it a low rating.

Best Naruto (Unleashed) movie
Overall I really enjoyed this film, and I'm lending it to someone who doesn't know Naruto as I feel it's a good intro as to how good Naruto is. I know some people say it's the same old same old: 'they get a mission escorting a new character and something goes wrong' - but ultimately that's the point of what ninja's of their level do...they're employed to be bodyguards and escort people who may be under threat! There a couple 'squirmy' moments - there's about 6 overly sentimental moments all about the same thing, and you do feel they should have left it one or two....but everything else is pretty amazing :) - I'm no expert but I think the film was overtaken by a different production house, and some of the animation scenes are amazingly fluid. It's clearly directed differently, with a lot of intelligent viewpoints/angles and storytelling. There really are some great moments. You can easily enjoy it as a film on it's own.
