Might be my new favorite for my Jazz Bass
I bought these for my Fender 2008 four string American Standard jazz bass. This was the first year they included a bridge with a string through body option and that is how I have these set up.I am really impressed with how they sound. I have tried several different types of strings over the past couple of years and these are my favorite so far for this bass. The only thing I am a little disappointed with is that some of the upper mid-range sounds less pronounced than I would prefer. But it is worth it for the magic that happens with the low end. These should be great for almost any style of play and music.I will update this later after they have been played for a few weeks to talk about how they age.

Great sound
These strings make all the difference in the sound of my bass. Last concert we played the owner of the sound company ask me what I was using. After I told him he said that out of the 4 bass players playing that night mine had a great sound compared to the others.

Fantastic strings
Fantastic strings. Well made and durable. Before trying the GHS line , I had Ernies , and Fender strings on all four of my basses. The GHS are far better than the others. They sound great , and they feel perfect. I have the flats on my $200 Yamaha. I put these 45-105 GHS on my other Yamaha, and my Schecter. I recently bought an American Precision Fender and could not stand the Fender strings at all. To my surprise, I tried a set of GHS flats on the Fender and hated the feel. Third time was a charm with the GHS 40-95 light boomer. Now my Fender feels , and sounds great. Bottom line, I won’t use anything but GHS boomers.

Less ping = good string
Fantastic string. Has great round-core character to it where it's not as "pingy" as hex-core is. Really easy on the fingers too for a roundwound. If you like roundwound but your fingers get wrecked easily from them, these won't wreck your fingers. Also makes a cheap bass sound great. Here's me playing a set on my sub-$200 Yamaha RBX170 http://youtu.be/JU6mx0nbN3k For more expensive basses, this round-core set would obviously work out very nicely (I can only imagine how great these would sound on a Pedulla!)

Massive thump
These have great tone. Having said that, higher tension strings aren’t my thing, so I moved on. But that doesn’t detract from how good these are. If you have ever had problems with your G string sounding thin, get these… problem solved.
