Great dryer, only complaint was shipping cost
The media could not be loaded. Having wanted a hood dryer, I researched several of the items on Amazon and found this to be the best option. The dryer itself is phenomenal, albeit large - you will need 28" wide path to be able to roll. (That is the width of the caster base) Controls are easy to use - the timer must be turned on for the motor to engage (don't just press the on switch and expect it to come on). There is an auto shut-off for when the set time is up. Heat is easily adjusted with the other dial. The heat does cycle on and off to keep temperature as set - meaning it won't heat up more than what you have chosen, as it will blow hot for a bit then blow warm and again hot, etc. The motor is definitely more powerful than I had anticipated - perhaps a bit more than my Dyson hair dryer with a diffuser on medium power. That said, it isn't blowing my hair wildly underneath the hood. Just make sure you use enough product on the top of your head, or you may experience frizzy hairs there.Assembly was a bit of a pain, as I had inadvertently covered with packing paper the star item shown in the photo that locks in the legs and base. That part is essential, as the legs don't lock into the base without it. Have a 14mm ratchet on-hand to tighten the bolt to the pole, as no wrench is provided. Once put together, the unit is stable. Height is easily adjustable with the tightening collar on the pole. The huge benefit to this model as compared to others is that the hood angle is adjustable. I use a dining chair under mine and am able to slide the base between the legs of the chair and sit comfortably underneath the dryer. My only gripe is that I did miss that shipping was extra - being a Prime member, I am accustomed to free shipping, so didn't think to look. I had credit in my account from a previous return, so late one night I just clicked through to order. What I must have missed was an option somewhere that expedited shipping and cost me $129 as opposed to the $29 stated on the page. My bad... please take note of this before you order.

Salon style hair dryer
I wanted a standing hair dryer so I can do my hair at home. The dryer heats up quickly and did a good job at drying my hair. For the price you can not beat it. I am a little skeptical about the plastic legs, but otherwise that I am very happy with the way it works

Glad it's not a 1875W unit (see details). Decent performance. Recommended
The ZENY 1300W Adjustable Hood Standing Hair Dryer with Rolling Base was exactly what I was looking for. Here's why:If you are looking for a floor-standing dryer, you'll notice that there seems to be a magic number... 1875 watts. Why 1875? Well, it's just math - and physics... P = V x I. 125 Volts x 15 amps = 1875 watts. If you don't see NEMA 5-20R outlets, then you're limited to 15 amps on your circuit. So why don't you want an 1875 watt unit?I don't know how your salon is wired, but mine doesn't have NEARLY the number of circuits that I'd expect. Ideally, you'd have a couple per hair station because hot tools use a ton of power. In reality, you're lucky to have one circuit per station. Worst case, multiple stations use the same circuit. In my case, there's one circuit per station. From a power budget standpoint, I don't want an appliance that can use the full 15 amps by itself. All you really give up is some heat, which you probably shouldn't be trying to max out anyway. One thing I noticed, was that this unit appears to be white labeled for different sellers. There's nothing to indicate that the units aren't identical, so I selected this one on the basis of the ratings and answered questions (indicating that the seller had carried this unit for a while). At this price point, you can't expect much out of the ZENY. There's not much to assemble, as the unit comes mostly together. The legs fit on to the base, are secured with a plastic cap, and are held in place with a single bolt and washer. It's more than sturdy enough to support the dryer. The casters are fine, but the legs are short enough that you should take some care when rolling the unit around, so you don't tip the thing over.As far as the actual dryer and hood go, they're fine. The hood is not as large as some of the biggest hair you might encounter, but you're going up a couple price classes if you want to be able to deal with that. The controls are large and easy to use. The air seems to be fairly uniform in temperature, but it's hard to say if the indicated temperature is accurate. Oh yeah... that's the other thing... you may want to take a Sharpie and mark the temps in Fahrenheit. Recommended.* Please mark this review as helpful, if you found it to be helpful
