For the price point, these are some of the most reliable and hardworking filters I have tried so far. I have tried probably 10 different filters in the last year for one of my 5 gallon tank and they all seem to have something that isn't quite right, like the down stem is too long, the motor clogs easily, motor burns out quickly, etc. For $10, these are some solid filters. I like to run filters in pairs or triplets for extra filtration so these are a perfect choice for what I do

I saw that it said that the motor stopped after a few weeks, so I wanted to check it out. It has helped me a lot; lots of power, a very good filter. If the rotor is properly maintained, it can last for months, even a year. I recommend it to those who don't have expensive fish, just in case.

So far so good. Perfect flow and size for my baby Betta's tank. Doesn't disturb the floating plants or any of the other plants and isn't too strong for him. Best part is its super quiet compared to others I've used !

I don't normally write a bad product review. Normally, I just don't buy from the same company ever again. However, I think that this should be under the reviews so that people know. I ordered this item and at time of review, have had this hang on the back filter for 2-3 weeks or so. I woke up and checked and checked on my aquarium only to find water all over my hardwood floor and about 2 gallons of water missing from my tank. I look all over for the source as the water wasn't on the side of the tank or on the sides of the filter. I finally found a constant stream of water running down the electrical cord that runs the HOB filter. Luckily for me, I take precautions and there was no water near my plug. It was leaking where the cord meets the pump at the box of the filter. Buyer beware!! If you don't use drip cords or keep your plug at a higher location, this could be dangerous. If I was less competent this could have caused a fire. I would suggest this product to no one. It only got 1 star because I can't give 0 stars.

Works awsome cant even tell its working just wish it came with assembly instructions and more filters that fit and that were not so hard to use

It's insanely hard to find a tiny HOB (hang on back) filter, especially one with flow control. I have a sponge filter in my 5.5 gallon, but I wanted a bit of flow without my sand being disturbed and this is absolutely perfect! I also love that it already comes with a tiny protector sponge on the intake (something I do with all my HOB filters for fish safety). It's even small enough to fit with my lid. Super quiet which is great because the tank its on is in my bird room. The price is fantastic in my opinion for what this is as well. I'll be ordering again for other small tanks in the future! Highly recommend

If this light lasts it’s a game changer , it’s only been in the filter for a few hours and it’s already clearing up the water. See pictures. It’s been cloudy filmy for a couple weeks since I put new stratum in the bottom. I’m happy to see it really works!

Loved it at first and it does do the job. Ive had it for a few months now and I have to clean it quite frequently for my shrimp tank or it tends to get clogged. To me it does work better than the small sponge filters so I would still recommend this over that for small tanks to keep planarial worms away. I would not use this filter for more than a 2-3 gallon tank.
