Very high quality bird feeder!
Received the two feeders today that I ordered last week. They are as good as I thought they might be, my only concern is if the spring will let the outer cage close the feeder openings when a squirrel gets on the feeder. It’s extremely well made with the lower part easily removable for proper cleaning of the feeder. Birds are using it already, now just waiting to see how it works with a squirrel on it. It appears to be very sturdy but squirrels are extremely destructive. They have bent up similar feeders similar to these and even chewing the feed openings larger even though the lower part had a metal piece at the bottom. These feeders have metal completely around the feed openings and I’m anxious to see how well they work. I’ve got my fingers crossed, I’m tired of buying feeders, but now I think I’ve found the best. I’ve had the feeders for a few weeks now and they work great. They are completely squirrel proof but you must keep them away from another branch on the tree. If the squirrel can reach it and keep from putting his weight on it he can still get to the seed. The problem I’ve had now is raccoons, they have managed to knock the feeder down two times. The first time it didn’t do anything to the feeder and it still had most of the seed in it. The second time, just yesterday after knocking the feeder down the raccoon managed to get two of the perches off. One was broken but the other was just off and bent. I straightened the one and got it back on. I shortened the other one and rebent it and it works perfectly. I’m really happy with the strength of these feeders. I put these feeders up where it is a real job for an animal to get them off but it’s easy for me. Right now I’m taking the one feeder in at night. This feeder is absolutely easy to clean contrary to what one reviewer stated. The bottom of the feeder comes out with the removal of a compression pin, very easy. Buy this feeder if you’re tired of dealing with the squirrels but keep it far enough away from branches so the squirrels have to put their whole weight on it. I had it a little too close to a small branch and a squirrel was able to put just some of his weight on the feeder and the outer part only came down halfway and the persistent squirrel was able to get some sunflower seeds out. I trimmed the branch away and now the squirrel has to get completely on the feeder and it shuts the openings completely. I love ❤️ watching this guy, he is so persistent and occasionally gets on the feeder and tries his best to overcome this feeder but to no avail. I’ve been checking the feeders time to time and there is absolutely no damage. I’m really getting a kick out of watching the squirrels now.

A great bird feeder - the birds love it & it’s squirrel proof- but not shake proof (see addendum)
This feeder attracts many types of birds. We have seen cardinals, both male and female, chickadees, and sparrows, just to name a few. It’s so enjoyable and relaxing to watch them. The squirrels have tried hard to get in to eat the seeds, but as you can see in the video, it is difficult for them because of the lightweight branch I chose to hang the feeder on. Yesterday I saw a squirrel, trying hard to feed himself from our birdfeeder. I was worried he would break the branch. The squirrels on our property are delightful and friendly during the summer months, so I like them too. I opened our patio door, called out to the squirrel and said come over here and eat the seeds. I then put small piles of birdseed on our patio ground in an area where there was no snow. The squirrel stopped trying to get into the birdfeeder. He sat there on the branch for a few minutes, looking towards our patio. Then he finally he took a roundabout way to climb down from the tree, ran through the snow to our patio, and started enjoying the seeds. I love our tree filled backyard, and the animals that come to visit. So now the birds are happy and so are the squirrels. Addendum: After a couple weeks we have noticed that our persistent squirrels have learned to shake the bird feeder so that seed falls on the ground. I wondered why the ‘birds’ were eating the seeds so quickly when we saw what was happening. So starting today I’m going to leave seeds on the ground below the bird feeder for the squirrels. Hopefully they won’t get greedy and still try to shake out more seeds. I’ll keep you posted. The reason I didn’t lower my score to a four after seeing the squirrel shake seeds on the ground is because the birds also enjoy the seeds on the ground as you can see in my new photos. Also, we noticed that the birds share the food with each other. One takes food from the feeder, then flies up to a branch to eat giving another bird a chance to land on the feeder. Then the entire group leaves allowing a different species of birds access to the feeder. It’s such a peaceful experience to watch them. Recommend this 🐦⬛feeder- but you may want to leave some seed on the ground for your squirrels so you don’t frustrate them. 🐿️

Sturdy and easy to refill and use
Sturdy, easy to refill and use. Really handy and holds a lot of seed. We have a lot of squirrels around and it keeps them out of the birdseed. Really effective and attractive to so many birds.

Great but is it squirrel proof?
Great bird feeder. It does close up when there is enough weight on it. However, our friendly neighborhood squirrels have figured out that once you are on it and jump off, it will rain seeds when the locking is released and you can find the seeds on the ground. Because it does not have any form of a catch, the birds will also spill a lot of seeds on the floor.

Great Feeder for Backyard Birdwatching
This feeder is well made and truly squirrel proof. The sturdy metal mesh keeps pests away while allowing the birds to enjoy their seed. It’s easy to hang, easy to fill, and looks great in the yard. We’ve already had birds visiting, and it’s been fun to watch them right outside the window. A great value and highly recommended for anyone who enjoys birdwatching!

It Works!
I’ve purchased several squirrel-proof feeders, and this is the only larger hanging feeder that is sturdy, well-made, and actually inaccessible to the squirrels.
