Refund received for stale pecans
Ordered this for my wife's birthday. We have been pleased with the quality of these fruit cakes from Collin Street in the past, but these pecans tasted stale. Called the company and they said they have not sold these for at least 2 months. If you want one, order it directly from Collin Street, not through Amazon. Amazon will not give a refund. UPDATE: Collin Street Bakery was very helpful in giving us a full refund even though we bought thru Amazon. In the past we have been very happy with their fruitcakes so will order them again, but not through Amazon!

Pricy, but delicious!
I looked at this several times before ordering it! I am very frugal (don’t splurge often), but ended up ordering it. It was very moist, DELICIOUS, and rich! I know most folks wouldn’t think twice about the price. I ate a small slice accompanied with a glass of cold milk ( if you are a coffee drinker, that would be great, too) so it would last longer! It kept great in the tin it came in since I stored it in the refrigerator! I will have fond memories of it, and, who knows, may splurge again around Christmas time!

Awful
I’ve purchased “regular” fruit cakes from this company and they were good. This version was awful and tasted stale. Also, after refrigeration which I prefer, It became hard as a rock and was still hard after warming. I ate two pieces and tossed the rest in the trash. Also, the metal container was dented making it not suitable for a gift!

Great!
Nuts taste a little stale. The rest of it is wonderful.

Great cake
If you love a moist cake with lots of pecans and less candied fruit, then you will enjoy this one. Fruit cake is better than the apricot cake.

Fresh and tasty!
I love this cake! Large pieces or whole apricots. My husband and I enjoyed the small one. I sent a bigger one to my sister and her family. Makes a beautiful gift!

Shockingly Disappointing
Many years ago I was gifted an apricot/pecan fruitcake from Collins Street Bakery, and it was so good! Since that time, I have always wanted to purchase another one, but I could not justify the cost. This year I decided an apricot/pecan frutcake would be my Christmas present. I was so disappointed! Honestly, the fruitcake tasted stale without much flavor at all. Apricots and pecans are some of my favorite foods and this fruitcake did not do justice to either. Actually, I am not even certain the fruitcake contained apricots. Lessons learned, right? Lots of money spent for a really bad edible experience!
