Does this have any stretch?

It is not stretchy material, not elastic. You can have a little flexibility depending on how you wrap it.

Does this tape "get old" after a year or two? Like for instance how "masking tape" gets old and works better when fresh as opposed to after 1-2 years?

So far so good and I have had it since last April. But I can't tell you long term what will happen.
