Q: looking at the only review: Is it really glass or plastic?

The product is in fact tempered glass. "Tempered" glass means that it is created at high temperatures to be able to be flexible with out breaking. You can test for yourself that the glass will not scratch with a knife, as a hard plastic would scratch. Also, if you were to bend it too far, the screen protector would shatter, which plastic would not do. Thanks! Eric TechMatte Support

It's only adhesive on the edges. But, I have used these for YEARS on both mine and my daughters phones. I'm on construction jobsites all day, phone in and out of back pocket, constantly changing phone cases, and I have NO ISSUES. You have to rub the screen protector down when you first apply it. I use the guide, then when it's installed, I take the cloth and "buff" the edges really really well. Mine never lift. I drop my phone often, so I do replace these when they crack. I never have issues with responsiveness on the glass or anything. These really are GREAT!

Q: Will this work with an Otterbox Symmetry case?

I have mine in an Otterbox that does not have the plastic when screen works just fine

Q: Does this work with phone case otterbox defender series?

I have the defender series on my galaxy S9+ and works just fine even had one break and i replaced the glass without removing the phone from the case, ( a bit tricky but doable)
