TYRMen's Durafast One Jammer Swimsuit

Compare with Speedo Endurance
I train 4-5 hours per week year round, and have for many years. My pool uses traditional chlorination. Naturally I got tired of replacing the short-lived "normal" suits, and discovered the TYR Durafast and Speedo Endurance suits. What a difference! Although they use different materials, the anti-chlorine performance of both are similar. It seems like the fabric never wears out - but the stitching on both eventually fails. As noted elsewhere, the stitching turns white after some time, and gives out at some later time. Both suits last MUCH longer than "normal" suits. (I wish TYR and Speedo would use the same chlorine-resistant material for the stitching that they use for the fabric!) So what is the difference? Currently the TYR costs a little bit less, and I prefer the TYR drawstring. To me, the TYR material is a bit more comfortable, soft with some stretch. The Speedo Endurance is OK in this regard, and I will probably buy whichever is the better deal at the time. I buy some other suits a size smaller than my normal waist size, but I recommend ordering your actual waist size with the TYR.

These hold up.
I was an NCAA swimmer. I've done swim workouts at least 3 days a week for most of my life. This is the best suit for anything other than competition and even then they would be serviceable. Chlorinated pools? Hot tub? Open water swimming? Wear them under board shorts at the beach? Whatever! I've stopped worrying about what I put these through. I have a black pair and an blue pair. The blue pair is 4 years old at this point. There has been some degree of fading but the fit hasn't changed and they aren't going transparent like most other suits do.I have about a 33 inch waist. I bought the 34 and it's been fine.

Great but order up a size larger
I ordered both a 34 and a 36. I wear 34 in almost everything I have every bought, including triathlon shorts and swimwear - when sold in sizes vs. S/M/L. These 34s were way too tight everywhere. I could wear them, but I would not want to be seen in public! The 36s fit very nicely and snug with no loose material. I've worn them now for about a dozen pool training sessions and they feel fine, don't ride up or down. There's a second layer inside in the front to provide a bit less anatomical accuracy, which is nice but common in swimwear.Overall, I like them, but I'm taking a star off for their less than accurate sizing.

Purchase a full size larger than your pants size.
buy a size larger than you would normally purchase for your slacks. Did not realize this and purchased the size 34, which is the same size as I would purchase for my jeans. Unfortunately, this size would have revealed considerable crack. Purchased, a 36 and these work fine.

Comfortable, durable. Will keep buying them, unless I'd find something better at that price.
I swim about 3 miles a week. First pair lasted about 200 miles in highly chlorinated gym pool water. Stitching in crotch gave out. Fabric was still fine. Am on pairs number 2 and 3.A comparable chlorine resistant Speedo lasted perhaps half as long, also popping the stitching in the crotch.Regular swim suits lasted perhaps 10% that long. Their fabric became almost transparent in the crotch.

Hold up much better than Speedo Endurance
I swim four times a week in a heavily chlorinated pool and have tried both the Speedo Endurance and Tyr Durofasts. The Tyr holds up much better and fits true to size and colors don't fade. I'm into my seventh month with the current pair and that is swimming three times a week. The stitching will wear out long before the material - the flip rip - but they really do hold up. Maybe a little more expensive but really worth it.

Right blend or comfort and durability
It seems like every time I get a new pair of Jammers there's something I either hate of love about them. The last couple sets of Speedos didn't have enough stretch to do a flip turn, the cheap ones Amazon recommended were really comfortable but wore out quickly so it was time to change brands again. These seem to be the perfect blend of comfort and the material appears to one that will last. Since I've only worn them a couple times so far, I don't feel comfortable rating their longevity yet but for now, I'm very impressed.

great for swimming laps and look good
These are great for swimming laps in our pool. I bought them in the same size that I by Dockers and jeans, and they fit fine. There is a little stretch to them, and I guess they would still fit okay if my waist was a little larger. They are rather tight around the thighs, and I don't think I have very large thighs. They seem to be well made. The directions say to wash after using but don't use detergent or wring them. I guess they just want us to rinse them out well in warm water, so that's what I do. At my age, I really prefer these thigh-length suits over the tiny Speedos that were popular 20 years ago.

Not bad
I would give it 5 stars if the quality was better. The holes at the waist where the draw string was started to tear after 2 weeks of use. Never had that problem with Arena or Speedo. Fit was perfect, hence 4 starts. Would have given it 5 if the quality was better.
