very tight Sockets they may ease after use but pushing the plug home and removing the plug for some reason is very tight, it is simple to replace the double socket using this device, turn off the ring main to the socket you want to replace remove the old socket and the clamping screw heads are slotted and the cable clamping is poor as it just relies on the sort of clamp pressing down on the cables a rising cage would have been much better, and for the price I would have expected that quality as this arrangement is not that good especially as the mloding plastic is not trimmed well around the cable entry, I would have liked also to have seen a second earth terminal for earthing the back box, I would also liked to have seen 2 inch Screws for fixing so they could be shortened for deeper fixed back boxes,

I was initially cautious in purchasing this item and had favoured the MK triple outlet, but this required a new back box, which they don’t do. However bearing in mind the problems with MK this was a better alternative. Fits straight over an existing double ( or alternative version for single to double) outlet and provides three double switched sockets. Somewhat deeper than a flush plate but by no means too intrusive. You probably need the longer screws from the old double switched socket if, like mine, it was mounted in plasterboard. Room for standard adapters for access to the switches but smart socket adapters might need careful placement to allow access to the adapter switches. Overall a good product at a sensible prices that provides an addition switched socket with a minimum of work and no clumsy adapters or trailing leads. Definitely recommend.

Great Idea, seems a solid piece of kit until you try and clamp down the terminal, plates stick, screw head very soft, screws detach from clamp plates, not a good purchase, avoid .

I needed to convert a 2 way mains socket to 3 way. The Newlec NL8300/23SCA seemed exactly what I needed.The wiring was easy and it had the screw holes in the correct place for a a regular 2 way mains socket.Unfortunately, when I tried to plug in my 3 pin plugs, they would only fit properly into one of the sockets. After applying some light pressure to get the plugs to go into the other two, the plastic inside the socket broke and it is now useless

Wow. This has sorted out so many problems with charging equipment while still having plug sockets available. Good quality and a good price.

Provided you have a basic understanding of electrics this is easy to fit into a double box. The screw holes line up well and the length of screws supplied is just right.

Initial unit was faulty which was spotted before fitting. Replacement arrived quickly and fitting was easy. Unit works well
