I also like the #3 lead that doesn't write as dark and doesn't dull as fast. Review: Good for various uses - Good for working on word search books, homework and drafts. Good to use for people with visibility depth disabilities. The lead is dark enough to be able to see it. Better than #2 pencils, for people in the catergory.

Solid Quality! My Family Loves Them More Than I Do
We’ve been using these for a couple of years now, and even though I’m usually a mechanical pencil person, I’ve given them a fair shot. At first, I struggled a bit — they feel bulkier in my hand, and I’m used to a finer, more consistent point. Writing with them still isn’t my favorite, but I can definitely see why they’re so popular. They sharpen cleanly without splintering, and the lead holds up well without constant breakage. The erasers don’t smudge or leave weird marks behind, which is rare. The #3 lead is also a bit lighter than a #2, so it’s good if you want something that won’t smear easily. What’s funny is that my family likes them way more than I do. These are always the pencils they reach for first, and they’ve never had any complaints. Even if I still prefer my mechanicals, these have been a reliable classic in our house.

Led shows up and eraser works well.

Sharp and to the point.
I love the harder lead for my carpentry projects. Less sharpening and hold a point better than expected.

Horrible QC
These used to be good pencils when they were made in the USA, but now they are apparently made elsewhere. The hardness of the lead is inconsistent from one pencil to another. But the worst thing is that the leads are off-center so that, when sharpened, they come to a point in the wood.

Good quality pencils!
I ordered both the 2 and 3 hardness. They are both great!
