More than I expected for the price. Book arrived in excellent condition and when promised.Well laid out with plenty colour plates and overview of Doig's work. Good beginning collection of Doig books.The interview at rear of book was weak, unsatisfying.Happy to own this and good for reference, insights into his process on repeatability of subject matter.

While a good many of the major paintings in this book have been reproduced elsewhere the quality is very good, much better than the book that came out two years ago. What is great about this book is that it shows all the studies, the drawings, small paintings on paper and canvas, and often the source images that led to the major paintings. There are also some studio images that show works in progress, which for me as an artist is always of interest. Of all the recent books on Doig I think this is one of the best.

Book is amazing and in excellent condition for price. Great photos of art not seen in other books. The seller is even more amazing because they personally pulled book from warehouse same day in order to expedite to my mother for Xmas ♥️🙏 highly recommend!

The book gives an excellant overview of the work from Doig. My only problem is not with the book but with the condition the book came in; as in past orders with larger books from Amazon the packaging is minimal and therefore the hooks of the book are damaged. Yes returningbthe book is an option but the next one will have the same problem.

The images and the design are beautiful, and the text gives good context for the work. Not the most thorough book on Doig, but essential if you're interested in his trajectory.

This catalogue of Peter Doig's work is beautifully done. I saw the exhibition in Edinburgh and found it quite fascinating. This book catches the essence as well as any publication could.

For those readers and art lovers looking for a new good traditional hardback book on Peter Doig, this is one of the latest and worthy additions to his recent monograms. Unfortunately in a few years there will be another similiar book with an addendum of his latest paintings but will probably cover the same ground as so many books of his art have already done. There appears to be a rush to print books of his art probably because so many people still love figurative work and they are able to overlook some of his shallow work just to see his few good works, I'm guilty also. Many good images but its too bad some are of his latest works that are very weak and they take up so much space. It is hard to review this kind of book without commenting on the art itself, so apologies to the authors and artist.

Saw the P D exhibition in Montreal and loved it! Had to have the book! Did not pay too much for it with Amazon by taking their credit card. I have leafed through the book and seen enough to know I will read it from start to finish. You can see the i fluence of all the different artists who have been important to Doig. Love his use of colour and the grandeur of his work. Of course, his being a fellow Scot does not hurt!

Ich habe die Malereien von Peter Doig live im dänischen Museum Luisiana erleben dürfen. Kein Maler hat mich dermaßen Bewegt. Seine Werke sind für mich unmöglich in Worten zu fassen! Auch dieses Buch ist aus höchster Qualität und für alle zum Genießen und auch als Lehrbuch geeignet!
