Sherlock: Seasons 1-4 & Abominable Bride Gift Set (DVD)

Yeah, I spelled his name wrong. On purpose! And you still knew who I was talking about! One of my favorite people to every play the role and will probably never return to it now that he's grown so big. John Watson is also well played. The interaction between them is amazing. They play off each other delightfully.

This is a series I can watch many times. Very well done. It was a bargain and I'm happy to have it!

Cumberbatch and Freeman work well together in this modern day version of Sherlock Holmes. The discs played well. Please Note: When these sets are packaged they are done slightly out of order. The correct order to watch them in is Season One, Season Two, the one labeled simply Sherlock which is Season Three, then The Abominable Bride, and lastly Season Four. Watched out of proper order they don't make as much sense.

I love the modern take on it. I like the Victorian versions but to update the context... like a foil/friend as a pay for play dominatrix instead of a damsel in peril, yes please.

For the most part, this was great. However, nearly two years after the purchase (when i finally got around to watching them), I found out that season 1 episode 1 and season 4 episode 1 are corrupted and I cannot watch them. The rest of the episodes are thoroughly enjoyable!

These are 25fps videos made for british TV, and not designed for play in the US. But..... I think these were origially filmed in 50fps British format, so the copy on the disc has no errors with the frame rate. Its clean. So then when playing in the US, if you have a setup that can automatically switch the frame rate it will play at 50FPS screen refresh and be perfectly smooth. If you don't have screen refresh, your TV will try to convert it to 60fps by duplicating some of the frames, but since it was produced in 50fps this means the video frames were altered only once to play on your TV and will probably still be smooth. It gets hairier and can become a problem for BBC videos that were filmed in 60fps, then produced down to 50fps meaning the frame rate is now slightly messed up, then if you buy the 50fps copy and try to play that in the US it will mess with it a second time to change it back to 60fps. This blu-ray is not that though, its a good copy where the film clips on it are clips that were natively shot in 50fps so they will play well on that vast majority of US TV's and it will either play on a TV that can switch to 50fps or on a TV that will convert it to 60fps (only 1 messing of the frame rate) to play.

Que ce soit les différentes intrigues ou les acteurs et actrices de cette merveilleuse série, tout est génial !Espérons que les rumeurs sur une éventuelle cinquième saison soient fondées...A noter la très bonne qualité de l'image et un son vraiment correct.

Aspettavo tanto per compare questo coffaneto di Sherlock e non sono rimasta deluso, anzi e' stato un vero piacere vedere questo series. La qualita e' ottima e consiglio a tutti a comprarlo. Grazie.
