This is like the fourth or fifth instalment in the series of ‘Clue’ one-solve escape room styled games. I adore these like the Exit series except that this one here has more vibrant and attractive looking scene-layout cards - great visuals. Gameplay is straight forward - you solve puzzles one after another until you get to the final solution that’s included in the package in the form of an envelop (no screen time needed!). I own the others in the series and would likely get all others coming out in future too!

The Illusionist’s Club game was so fun, especially for the price. I looked at many different escape room style games for sale on Amazon, and chose this one based on reviews and price. We have done the real life escape rooms and wanted an at home experience to do with our three kids (teenage to young twenties). The front of the game says 90 mins-2 hours, I think it took us more like 2.5 hours, however we did deliberate on the final solution for quite some time. Another factor for choosing The Illusionist’s Club over the other Clue options was the difficulty level. Some reviewers said that the other options were too easy. I thought this one was perfect. How to solve some of the puzzles came to us pretty quickly, others we had to think about for a bit. There are hints for each puzzle if you get stuck. It’s a one time play, I will pass this game on to another family to enjoy!

The Illusionist's Club...so I thought this would be way more fun than it actually was because I love the Clue game and enjoy escape room board games. Unfortunately it was boring and tedious reading with nothing exciting as a result. I recommend looking elsewhere for this type of fun. It was not that it was too easy or too hard, but repetitive with little imagination or variety.
