Love the idea of this hat, but the actual item is lacking in a big way. First up, the solar cells are a joke. If you are lucky you'll get one fan to spin under solar if you hold your head just right. Generally, the solar doesn't get enough power (even in 100% full sun) to power the fans very well. Batteries are a better bet. Second, the hat fold under the weight of the fan units. So it droops down in your face from the weight and then the fans hit your face and stop. Just not a well thought out design but if you have a heavy wire of some sort (like a wire coat hanger) you can bend it (see my pics here) so that the side won't flop down. They should have sewed a wire/rib into the hat to do this, it's unusable unless you make this modification.

As I did the tourist thing in Cozumel both my fellow travelers and the shopkeepers were fascinated by my hat asking where I bought it. Some of the shopkeepers offered to buy it from me. It worked very well and because of the strong sun never had to be recharged! It also kept the mosquitoes away from my face!
