Great value vs performance/feature tablet
Initial (week 1) impressions: Tried several tablets and this looks like the one I'll keep. Tablet specs matches description (which was problem with other tablets). My top need is a true octa-core @~2GHz that could handle my largest apps and doesn't have laggy screen refresh. This Chuwi HiPad XPro was able to do that via its T616 CPU. Storage is 128GB (less OS) as listed. RAM is 6GB. Also supported is another 2, 4 or 6GB of virtual RAM (default disabled). Out-of-box Android 13 is 2023-Sep-05. Not expecting any updates (maybe Chuwi will surprise). Android itself is almost stock and (even better) has NO extraneous apps. All my apps installed (vs other tested tablets which rejected a few). Screen is sharp, bright and with it's Widevine L1 handles HD video without hiccups. Came with (sometimes reflective) screen protector installed. Screen itself is *much* more tap responsive vs other tested tablets. Speaker output is good. WiFi and BT set up w/o issues. Battery is tolerable. So far looks like it's enough for about 1/2 to 2/3rd of day before needing top-off. Recharge is bit on slow side.Tablet itself feels light and can be held one-handed. Included case (no cover) is for protecting back from scratches, not accidental tablet drops to floor. An improvement would be less smooth case that would help prevent slips when holding the tablet. One flaw with case, it prevents use of 90deg headphone plugs. Bonus: tablet supports FM radio (omitted from product description). The 3.5mm headphone plug is another plus for me (I prefer to BT earbuds). Buttons are on adjacent side to power... which remains accessible in portrait reading mode on table stand while plugged in.Tablet has a LED battery indicator (next to front camera) that's very bright and is blinding for late night/low light use as it shines right at you. Had to cover it up w/ some tape to dim it. This would have been better placed along tablet side (eg next to USB-C port). Wish it supported tablet wake via screen tap (physical power button press only which can be awkward sometimes).
