The kit has enough interesting items to hold young ones attention for a bit. Well constructed and safe, also very easy to assemble and get going.

I purchased this for my nephew, and he absolutely loves it. It takes some time trying to set it up, but that's just more time together doing a fun activity.

HOME GROWN Light Up Terrarium Kit for Kids - DIY Dinosaur Educational Toy is a wonderful gift. My grandchild and I spent a rainy day assembling the Terrarium. It is well packaged and slightly difficult to remove from the box. We had fun taking all of the different parts and putting them in the glass jar one at a time. The seeds have started growing and I wish they were a more appropriate plant for a terrarium like a succulent. I look forward to other options soon.

The first one came cracked but they were SO FAST in sending me another one. It was my sons favorite Christmas gift. Everyday he moves it around the house to give his little plants the right lighting lol and at night he uses it as a night light. With all this action the battery does die out pretty quickly but it’s okay. Still really happy with it. I didn’t read the dimensions so it was smaller than i imagined but again. Still great for my 7 year old.

Setting it up takes some time, but is something the whole family can get involved with. It comes with discs of dirt that you have to soak first before you put it in the bowl. That can get a bit messy, but I wore gloves to make it less of a mess. The instructions are very clear in terms of how to layer the materials. It gets a little difficult to fit everything in there once you get to the point of decorating with the volcano, dinosaurs, faux trees, etc. It was hard to find space to put the seeds when everything was in place. It comes with a LOT of seeds in the packet, so I saved a lot of them to grow more later.The grow light it comes with is pretty difficult to use. You have to take it out and pull a pull tab before it'll work, which isn't evident initially. There's a thing to turn it to turn it on or off, but it doesn't seem to work unless you take it out of the jar and turn it. It looks really cool with the light on (video included) as it filters through all the different colors. It seems to have a very short battery life though.The plants grew for a while but never flowered. The terrarium was placed in a window and watered often, with the top left open each day to allow the condensation to escape as the instructions recommend. It seemed like they grew pretty tall, but ran out of space, not being able to grow any taller. Some of the seeds never took, but I think that's standard with plants.Overall, this is a great learning tool for kids, teaching them about plant life and how to care for living things. It also functions as a really unique dinosaur decoration as it comes with rocks that glow under the light and is customizable in how you arrange the dinosaurs, volcano, etc. It is a great family activity and would make a great gift for a kid that loves dinosaurs.

We had a blast making this kit with kids. . This is a good idea to interact and help kids to help learn how to take care of and grow flowers and most like dinos..It was vary easy to make and sprouted within a few days.
