So sharp that I cut myself immediately and needed a bandage but that was human error. It is easy on your wrist and mine has stayed sharp since I bought it and I use it for absolutely every thing I cut up food wise.

I really like my knife. I've used it for chopping vegetables, cutting cheese and bread, slicing fruit and potatoes. Be careful, though, because I nicked my finger the first time using it. Looking forward to cutting up watermelon. Great value.

If you make (or serve) fancy layer cakes, this little gem is a must. The offset handle makes it easy to cut all the way down while your cake is on the plate. We're trying to replace a 30 year old knife that was a family favorite, mostly because you could make a sandwich on an small paper place and cut it in half without cutting the top of the plate and not needing a cutting board underneath. Unfortunately, somehow our favorite knife got thrown out with the trash a few months ago and we've been looking for a replacement ever since. It does not exist. The old knife had a five inch serrated blade and a very high curvature (think of the bottom of a rocking chair) so you could "rock thru the cut" - point in the top of the sandwich and simply pull down - with very little back and forth action required. After searching for weeks on line, this Mercer knife is the closest we could find and has everything but the very high curvature. Even though it's a six inch blade, it still fits in the dedicated slot in the silverware tray where the old one spent it's life. We can all relax now and everyone can stop feeling bad because they think they are the one who accidentally threw away the family favorite knife. THANKS MERCER .

Sharpest, light weight, fatigue free designed, hamburger bun slicer and cold tomato slicer. I’m 56 years old and this ideal item would have been my handy, go to knife for many years if I knew about it sooner. Fits nicely in my hand and as sharp as a Samaria Sword! So very little strength needed to use this knife effectively. A 5 star rating for sure!
