Great for home schooling
Excellent book. No need for an answer book as you can work almost everything out in your head (if you try!). Stretched my 7 year old when she was bored with year 3. Much of the material across year 3, 4, 5, 6 in this series of books is similar, just gradually adding more material. For example there is only so much to know about mixed fractions and once it's covered, there is nothing new in later books coverage, so maybe not worth buying every year (as I did). Still good material and I wish there were more books going towards GCSE and beyond. I would buy them...

Covers the new curriculum brilliantly!
This is a must for all year 6 teachers since we are longer using levels but are focussing on are related expectations this book helps tremendously. Every double page has a clear objective with a short but enough explanation of a method. Then there are three levels of activities. The first two sections are practising the concept and section c tends to be applying the method more - mastery! Also several double pages are dedicated to each concept - so division is not just covered in one session - the authors of the book have really thought about what the various stages are to teach a unit well.Lots of challenge, great if like me your school has no scheme or detailed plans and you want clear activities with lots of differentiation. Not an observation lesson activity but I personally feel a must to any maths teachers collection.
