WORKS GREAT!!
Never written a review before but I felt obligated since the review I read was so poor and the tach works perfectly. If I had anything bad to say it would be that the instructions/manual could be a little more English friendly. With the exception of that I am very happy with the gauge!

Most Sluggish Response Time Of Any Tach That I've Ever Played With
Exactly my headline. This thing is useless. In the process of returning. The delay for an accurate reading is at least 2-3 seconds. I did get it adjusted to read the correct RPM, but any RPM changes and it's a snail to catch up. Does not serve the purpose of what a tach is meant for.

works for 2 stroke outboard
The face bezel is not very wide, so the hole needs to be cut fairly precisely. The tach looks good and appears from the outside to be well made. To get the correct RPM reading on my 2 stroke 2 cyclinder outboard motor, I tapped one of the wires from the magneto to the rectifier to use for the signal wire to the tach, and I set the ratio on the tach to 4.7. Too high a ratio, like 20 for example, would result in no needle movement, and too low a ratio, like 3 for example, would cause the needle to be far too responsive. The ratio setting is quite sensitive, so take the time to dial it in.

NOT FOR AUTOMOTIVE ENGINE USE
Not clear (at least to me) that this tach will not work for a gasoline auto engine ,, no provision for tach signal from a distributor or ignition box. This relies on a turning signal from a rotating part.

Installed after warranty ended.
Did not install right away, would not calibrate, re: number of cyl. Screen color, etc.

I think I may have a faulty unit
I installed the tacho, using the 12 v signal to the coil of a 4 cylinder 4 stroke engine the meter appears "sticky" and slow to respond = I have sent an email to check my installation is corect to the supplier - the supplier responded suggesting adding the sensor mentioned in the instructions.

Great Engine Tachometer
I had a defective tachometer on my boat, so I decided to order a replacement. The new tachometer arrived promptly and I was able to install it on the second day. The calibration process was easy and went smoothly. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

PRODUCT NOT AS ADVERTISED
i PURCHASED AN ELING TACH - FOR A CAR THAT I AM REBUILDING - IN FEB 2022. I FINALLY GOT TO THE POINT WHERE I INSTALLED THE TACH ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE BACKLIGHT IN THE TACH DOESN'T WORK. i CONTACTED AMAZON & ORDERED THE SAME TACH AGAIN. THE BACKLIGHT ON THE SECOND TACH DOES NOT WORK EITHER. SAME ITEM - 2 YEARS LATER - SAME PROBLEM. CANNOT TRUST THESE PRODUCTS.

Boat tach for 1998 110 HP Evinrude.Looks great. Easy to install and calibrate.Check rpm with test gauge than hold button for 3 seconds. Pulse button to increment up and pulse again for down. Hold to match reading on test gauge. Release and tach will hold setting after a few seconds.
