Worked perfectly!
If you’re like me, you might be really confused as to what you really need to install a remote start in your car. Every product and page seems to say something slightly different. I’ll try to explain what I learned.1) This is the main thing you need to remote start your car, but you’ll also need a few accessories for it too. This was a great value for the “brains” unit that controls everything. I got it for $105 December 2021 and installed it in a 2016 Honda CRV (push-to-start model aka. PTS). I have no complaints, it came new and worked as expected.2) You will also need an ADS-USB data cable to flash the correct firmware that’s compatible with your car. The reason some other brands say you don’t need the cable or have to worry about flashing is because they offer you the service of flashing the firmware for your specific model before they send it to you. If they don’t specially say they did this for you, you’ll need to do it yourself, each car is different and requires the correct firmware.3) I highly recommend spending $30 to buy the appropriate T-harness for your vehicle, which is essentially just a bunch of wires and connectors that let you plug your existing car’s connectors into it so that you can quickly tap into the wires you need. Basically a professional went through and figured out which wires are which and already made a connector harness so you don’t have to worry about stripping wires or messing it up.Once you’ve flashed the control module with the usb cable, plugged in the t-harness and the control module to it, you’re basically done! It was much simpler than I thought it was going to be, although I do work with computers for a living (if that helps you gauge my starting level of experience).

If your car is 'T-Harness" ready, this is super easy to install. A bunch cheaper than Best Buy.
Best Buy wanted $600 to install this model and the Drone module. I installed it (along with the Drone module) in a 2020 Mazda CX-5 for under $200. You'll need to get it activated/updated and that can be done by many dealers for under $50.Or... you can go the way I did and purchase the ADS-USB Connec adapter and do it yourself by signing up as an installer at Compustar/iData/Firstech's website and get the latest firmware. You will need to be somewhat technically adept to get it programmed properly. In the end, I couldn't get the stock keyfob to start the car but my wife only uses her phone and it's her car so it wasn't a concern. I'm sure if I spent more time, I could have gotten that to work. I spent more time trying to find a place to ty-rap the module up under the dash than any other part of the installation.

Find someone to flash it first.
Works well. It would be nice if the seller offered programming. Best Buy or mom and pop shops won’t do it so make sure you can get it programmed (flashed) before buying.

Easy Install on 2019 CX-5
This kit allows me to use my OEM Key fob to remote start my vehicle.Once you get the hood switch installed (I used a Mazda OEM hood switch) it takes about an hour to get this installed. The hardest part is getting the wire loom nicely fit & fastened under the dash. If I did it again, I think I could get the whole job (including hood switch) done in 30 or 40 minutes. Read instructions carefully and make sure to get a T Harness if available; this eliminates any cutting and splicing of wires (no damage to vehicle wire harness & plug-n-play install). It also has a ton of add-ons for reasonable prices. Two, that I am thinking of getting, are the alarm kit for $50 and the much longer range remote start key fob with 2 Way communication.I cannot speak to longevity, though a lot of installers use this kit so I can't imagine it being bad.I highly recommend.

Awesome! Built in bypass module!
I love having a remote starter with a built in bypass module. Makes the install much cleaner. I gave this 5 stars for “easy to install” however I must add that I am a professional and have been in the alarm remote start industry for nearly 20 years. That being said you must be aware that this unit needs to be programmed by a computer or laptop. You will need the programmer, it does not come with it. Also be aware this is just the module ONLY and does not come with wiring. If you know what your doing you’ll love this unit. If your a DIYer and never installed a remote start before, then this is not for you
