Waring CB15VK Blender Variable Speed, 4 L

This item is NOT cheap and that shows in not only the blending power and features. I dock this 1 star for the spider frame which is welded to the inside making it a little tricky to clean. Later models have this feature removed, so I guess that it must have been an issue for others. Still would recommend this item in a pro kitchen as it just 'does the job'.

I just bought this blender but the silver jar has bars surrounding the upper part so you cant just throw things in unless they are small enough to go past the bars and you can't put your handdown to the blades either if you wanted to give the jug a good scrub. As you can see , a piece of ginger got stuck on the grid and did not get blended. Defeats having a large jug and having to cut bits and pieces. What is the point these bars as right now- its going back. Also, it can't crush ice as described. Even when submerged with water. The MX xtreme was more efficient to do this. Compared to size, the MX is cheaper, better and more powerful.Only, its smaller. I would also suggest that for the price, its worth checking out the vitamix XL which has a more powerful motor and slightly larger capacity and but disadvantage of no metal jug.
