Just right
This is a good little set that got us on the road the same day. It was simple to use if you follow online instructions and I like that it included everything you might need. The pliers are the perfect size and the chain breaker worked just as expected. I like that the master links were included too. All in all, I'm very impressed with the functionality and durability of this set.

Lacks instructions but OK
I used these tools to replace a chain on my mountain bike. Probably will never have to use them again, so for the price they were just fine. I had a hard time figuring out how to use the pliers to secure my quick link. What I discovered is that to start, squeeze the pliers about half way closed. Then shove the plier tips into the spaces either side of one pin of the quick link. You've got it right when you can see a quarter inch of the plier tips above the chain. Then grasp the handles and pull them APART instead of squeeze together. Do this for each end of your master link. It didn't work for me but it should have. I gave up and used a phillips screwdriver. I pushed it through the master link and then used it as a lever to pry the link away from the neighboring link and the pin slide nicely into place. Just lever it the other way to get the other side of the quick link to seat. It also helps to have a bit of tension on the chain to hold the master link in place while you are trying to secure it.To use the chain breaker tool I carefully aligned the pin with the punch. It has to be perfectly centered. I had to play with it a bit but it worked great. The pin slid out easily with very little pressure applied to the handle. If the handle is tough to turn, I would recheck the alignment. The little piece of wire to hold slack in the chain was great and I used it to help me thread the new chain on the bike.

This is made of pot metal
I laid my chain across 2 of the teeth and started turning the handle to push the rivet out and one of the little teeth broke (as indicated by my poorly drawn red arrow). Luckily there was a 2nd set of teeth to use and I was able to get the job done. Just be careful in how you place your chain is all I can recommend. This is definitely a Park Tool chain breaker tool. If I had it to purchase again, would definitely pay the extra money and get the Park one. The old adage applies here, you get what you pay for.
