Watching the film of the titular character during his seminal days as a young immigrant slogging to live an honest life while caring and providing for his family imparts many a valuable lesson. While living an unobtrusive existence fueled by integrity much like that of a #Hobbit living in #theshire , Vito desultorily lost his job due to the corruption of a local businessman masquerading as a pezzonovante, a big shot. Yes, he got riled at this, but rather than bewail his fate, he took matters into his own hands. By keeping his mouth closed and Jis ears open, Vito readily discerned the true essence behind the masks people wore. By doing so, he excavated Fanucci’s weakness, and took the necessary measures to ablate that nuisance from his world. Yet, he remained #Quiet about his activities and allowed others to discover it for themselves, and thus became a man of respect. 🫡 ✊ Yes, life can throw some unexpected hurdles, and more likely will do so frequently. The Universe does this so that you don’t become smug with life. You can chose weather to be held by aging, or hold the strings yourself. Vito elected for the latter and thus created his own #Family, becoming a beacon of hope for many. None ever underestimated his generosity. I’m keeping this boxed in case if I ever see Robert DeNiro , in the hopes that he’ll autograph ✍️ it
