A good, hard to find solution for my fencing extension needs! I only wish the fit of each pole where it attaches to the fence railing were more accurate. Some extenders screwed on tightly and others didn’t resulting in them slipping whenever we have strong winds—see photos. Ball head of one piece fell off completely. Overall, this was the best and most inexpensive solution I found to extending the height of my backyard fence from 4’ to about 5.5’ to keep deer out and my dog in.

I really like the idea of these fence extension poles but they weren't exactly what I was expecting.  I hadn't seen these before and I thought they'd be great for one section of fence that I wanted to take a little higher and angle to make a protected garden.  I liked that these had a more finished look to them with the flagpole-style tops and I chose the "1-3/8" in Silver.  To be honest I wasn't sure if they would have a coating or if it was just the black option that had the coating.  Some of the "silver" pictures looked coated, one did not, and others it was hard to tell.  They arrived with a light silver-grey coating and while it's a nice color, I am not sure what it's intended to match as I don't think I've ever really seen a painted chain link fence other than black.  To be fair, my fence is pretty old and it looks it; it's still sturdy and not very visible (and part of an older home upgrade that's in the works) so I've made the best of it.  I knew these wouldn't be a perfect match no matter what but I'd still prefer the plain galvanized steel.  That aside there was a fair amount of scratching and even a chip or two on the paint coating.  Nothing major, only minor things but pretty consistently on every one.  They were wrapped in some plastic and shipped in mismatching directions so I think the ends were scratching the tops.  Ensuring the wrapping material covered the entire product completely would eliminate the issue.  (I have included some pictures so you can see what I mean.)  Overall these are sturdy, fit my fence, and will look good from afar.  I am not too concerned about the scratching as galvanized steel should still provide rust resistance.  I wish the listing pictures were a bit more clear but overall this product will do the job for those who are looking to add some height to their fence.
