A Novel Love Story: The BRAND-NEW for summer 2024 magical enemies-to-lovers rom-com from the author of THE DEAD ROMANTICS!: The magical ... the bestselling author of THE DEAD ROMANTICS! : Poston, Ashley: desertcart.in: Books Review: A magical read - This book had me wishing I could get lost in my favourite novels too. Eileen was such a relatable character, and I love how brave and strong she was. The friendship dynamics were amazingly well done and the picturesque town was everything one could wish for in a fictional setting. The romance was also delightful and the way both the MCs got together in the end was so satisfying to read about. I love happily ever afters, and seeing everyone get theirs in this book made it all the more special to me. The plot twist was quite predictable but that didn’t stop me from enjoying this book. I wish we had another Ashley Poston book to get lost in because how am I supposed to wait until next year for another story like this? This book is a gem, and I’m so sad it’s over. But like all beautiful stories, this one too must come to an end, and it was a beautiful conclusion. Review: Lost in the book world - A Novel Love Story is a plot that takes us to travel with Eileen, a devoted reader of the well-known romance novel series by Rachel Flowers. I found it difficult to comprehend the first few chapters of the story; it looks slow. Everything was so confusing; I read about her, her BFF, her club, and a weird town. It starts with her annual book club retreat getting canceled. This makes Eileen embark on a solo trip, hoping to escape her personal troubles. She gets lost along the way and eventually finds herself in the town of Eloraton. She doesn't know the town and is having trouble figuring out what happened. All this does not make any sense at all till Eileen finds that the town mirrors the fictional world of the Flowers' series. The town’s characters and setting are all familiar to Eileen, but they don’t recognize her, leaving her to figure out whether she’s truly in a fantasy or trapped in a dreamlike reality. This marks the transition point from where I was completely into the book. Being a book lover, I had always dreamed to get lost in the world of books. and here this story is actually one like that. I could relate with Eileen and found here so closely related with myself. The book had so many moments, which I annotated, and I felt as if it was speaking about me and how I felt at times. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and felt it was a good read. We actually chose this as the BOTM for our September book club meet with the BBC. Though everyone has had mixed thoughts over the book, I enjoyed it and loved reading the book. the perspective she had, and it felt as if the book was written for me, for me to reflect, for me to self-introspect and understand me. I would really wish a few of my friends had read the book, and I am tagging you guys. Go grab the copy and do read it.

A fairytale for real!! A rom com lovers paradise!!
Okay, I don't know where to begin!! I just finished it , and it was all that I expected from Ashley poston! A girl who enters her favourite book, into the lovely town of Eloraton, where everything feels like home, and every character feels like a long lost friend. This book was magical, dreamy and just perfect! It had a perfect meet cute, a grumpy sunshine trope and nailed romance to the T. Some of the things that I thought had a recurring thing in Ashley poston books were the names of her female leads are based on songs, like Eileen is and Clementine was. I love that small little detail. After reading her two books, I can safely say she is my go to romance author now!!! For Life!!

Pick this up for the most refreshing and original read of the year.
Eileen Merriweather is lost. Not just physically on the road she is on but also in life. An English Professor by day, friends, bookclub and family at her side - still she has this sinking feeling that life will pass her by. Elsy's had her best friend - Pru - at her side forever. They grew up together, always at each other's side and loving the same books. They also planned their major life milestones to come simultaneously for one another. But, does life ever play out like you plan? After a sudden betrayal by someone with whom Eileen was supposed to spend her life, she sees that things might not go as planned. The final blow comes when their yearly book club retreat is cancelled when every member is too busy to come, except Elsy. She vows to go alone and take this as an adventure to spend time with herself; doing what she loves - READING. Remember she was physically lost too? She lands in a town just familiar, within reach but cannot fully place it - until she does. It's ELORATON! The fictional town is complete with all the characters & locations from her and Pru's favourite series - Quixotic Falls by Rachel Flowers, who died before finishing the last novel in the series. Wait a second though - is this real or is she dead? Why is everyone's phone working except hers? Why do the characters from the books seem different from the endings Rachel left them on? Can she stay here without creating any disturbances? Can she find her happily ever after, the one thing she was convinced she'd never have and one thing that everybody in this town seems to have? And most importantly, who is this grumpy, muscular Darcy lookalike - whom she cannot stay away from? Is Anders real or just as fictional as this town? Is he waiting for his happily ever after or is Eileen it? This book feels like a warm hug from acquaintances you never knew you needed. Some moments seem like nothing but remain to be the most memorable. Throughout the book, you are oscillating between being scared of this feeling of impending doom and sensations of buzzing ears with life zooming out in the peripheral. You end up being so invested in Eileen and Anders that any interruptions by other characters make you angry and bring feelings of hate.

I am shocked and relieved this ended up being a 4 star read for me! The beginning was a bit rocky for me, which is extremely disappointing to say, because I LOVE this author and her previous books. However, the last 20% was absolutely amazing and what bumped it up! That last 20% reminded me of her other two books and why I love this author and her writing so much. I'm not really sure why the first half or so of the book wasn't working for me as much except that this romance was a slow burn and I'm not a huge fan of those. The writing was great and I loved what the entire story revolved around (more on that later), but I found myself a bit bored until we finally get to the good parts and my favorite parts of the romance, which was so good! We may have had to wait but once we got there it gave me all the butterflies, chills, and giddy feelings! 🥰 I hate this book wasn't amazing for me from the jump though and it's definitely my least favorite by this author (first and favorite being The Seven Year Slip and second being Dead Romantics), because this book is an ode to all of us, who are book lovers. And I loved the entire premise. What reader doesn't dream of entering their favorite book, living in the fictional town it takes place in, and meeting all the characters they love? It was such a novel idea and for this author to always give us unique plots, her creativity did not waiver in this book either! As I mentioned previously, I sincerely think if this book wasn't such a slow burn, I would have loved it just as much as her other two. So I say if you enjoy and have the patience for those, love magical realism, enemies to lovers, and have enjoyed this author's previous books (and if you don't know, please run and read Seven Year Slip ASAP!), check this one out! All I know is I can't wait to see what this author gives us next!
