MAXYOYO tatami mat Review: Ich bin sauer jetzt ganz ehrlich. Warnung Betrug Review: 11-21-23 Well these are definitely not 100% grass. I removed the binding from one edge to find that it's a thick layer felt with a thin layer of grass on top. So if you're looking for 100% grass you're looking at the wrong item. Unfortunately there was nowhere in the listing that mentions this felt so I thought it was a bit misleading. Also these are definitely not skid free on smooth solid surface flooring, You would need to order large, skid-free mats to lay under them as you would for rugs. Nonetheless they're working out for what I need. These are actually being used on our tent floor to help softening rocks twigs and such while adding an additional layer of insulation from the cold ground. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the queen size is actually two mats. I was hoping for that, so we could use them individually if need be. These fold up fairly thin and we lay them side by side inside of our rooftop cargo carrier bag which creates a nice flat surface for our bedding chairs and whatnot to lay on top of during travel with falling through the cargo rack rails. They definitely provide a bit of very firm comfort over laying a sleeping bag on the ground. While they're working perfectly for our overlanding Jeep set up you will be disappointed if you think this is 100% grass mat, again it's a thick layer felt with a thin layer of grass on the top. 1 star for the misleading information, 4 stars for function under a sleeping bag. Hopefully this was helpful, Thank you!

One of the big appeals of Tatami flooring is the natural scent of the rush grass. It doesn’t appeal to everybody, but it can be quite nice to the right person. This mat, however, had way too much of a scent when it first arrived. It was almost overwhelming, and reminded me of the organic food smell in a pet store more than the grass smell I associate with my other mats. We had to leave it in the garage for almost a month before it dissipated enough to bring in the house. Now that it’s aired out for a bit, I can smell the light grass scent under it. It’s still not as nice as my other mat, but it no longer smells “out of place.” As for the mat itself, this mat is a full thickness, folding tatami mat. It’s about large enough for a single bed, and is very firm. So firm, in fact, that I think it feels “harder” than my half thickness mat when laid on a hard floor. That said, it is more comfortable than sitting on the hard floor itself, and makes for a nice floor sitting option in my office. It also folds up fairly small for a full thickness tatami mat, and is a relative bargain for US buyers compared to importing real, full size Tatami from japan. The smell is a big issue of contention, however. I don’t know for sure the quality of this mat, and the fact the scent was so overwhelming makes me wonder about it.

The Japanese mat twin size fits a large man. The reed smell is airing out before it remains indoors. The reed smell to me is similar to the guinea pig bedding aisle to the petstore. Once the initial overwhelming scent is gone it will make a fine bed base for a futon style mattress. Hoping back pain resolves with a former solution and a new style. Testing on this twin first before purchasing a king size a doing away with our traditional cloud mattress. So far the firm support on this may feels fine, and the fold up stories nice. Later this will turn to a meditation yoga mat after the sleep trial is done. Made well with nice quality seams.

Love it. It's two mats and they aren't *exactly* the same size but I don't mind at all. I put cheap shelf liner strips under these to hold them in place on the floor a little better, seems to work alright. The rushes do smell strongly and not in a good way at first, but as the mats air out it's not so bad, it even mixes with my floral reed diffuser somewhat pleasantly. I expect it'll get more subtle with time. They're smooth and relaxing. My favorite thing is that they really complete my living room space, it's perfect for sitting on the floor with my knitting and tea when I want to decompress. I'm really glad I decided to get these instead of just sitting on the floor, even if it's only a little padding it clearly designates the space for relaxing purposes only. Just need some wall paint and it'll be heaven!
